Consider Me by Becka Mack

I expected SO MUCH MORE from this book bro, I’m SO disappointed. When booktok mentions hockey books this is like the number 2 one they bring up and I had high hopes.
Basically 40% of the book is Olivia and Carter going back and forth on if they wanna be together or not. Olivia doesn't wanna date a f*ckboy (Fair) but Carter proves over and over and over again that he isn't a f*ckboy anymore and that he really cares for her and Olivia continuously slut shames him at every available opportunity including after they sleep together for the first time and he proves, again, that he's in it for the long haul with her.
30% of the book is Olivia getting her p*ssy ate and Carter taking photos. (Unsure why either of them thought THAT would end well.)
20% of the book is the third act breakup because Carter pretends he cheated on Olivia to protect her from finding out the photos were leaked. I will give Olivia credit for being very confident that Carter wouldn’t cheat on her despite calling him a whore for majority of the book.
The last 20% was deadass Carter’s proposal. Like why was it SO LONG?

I will give Danica's mom kudos for at least being honest with Jean Luc that she only wanted him back for his money, not because she loved him or because she was sorry for cheating or because she wanted to be a good mom and provide her child with a stable father-figure. Granted, said child is f*cking said father figure so I mean...

I really don’t even wanna talk about this lol. This was rec’d for people who liked Protege by Brianna Hale and I’m taking that as an insult tbh.
Basically, 17 year old FMC goes to live with her step-uncle after her parents die and she finds out he's into BDSM and asks him to dom her but because she's 17, he just makes her listen to his commands such as doing her homework and going to bed on time. (This is also known as parenting.)

It’s a 5/5 because it was so interesting and the characters were so fun that I couldn’t put it down, not necessarily for the plot. I do think basic communication skills could've really helped King & Savannah.

I’ve read one of Briana’s books before and it was also Daddy Kink but I hated it. A lot. I decided to give this one a go because it reminded me - distantly - of a previous book I’d 5 stared a few years ago. I genuinely enjoyed the way Isabeau's mind was written - the muddled mess that just needed the discipline and high standards Laszaro held her to her whole life (basically).

I think perhaps Lex & Selena could've saved themselves about 95 arguments if they just got their heads out of their asses (mainly Lex). They also fuck way too much without a condom for two non-baby-having mfers.

I've read this book twice now and loved it so much both times. This book is both HILARIOUS and really touching. There were so many absolutely beautiful quotes. I now own 3 different copies of this book with eventual plans for more of them lol.

I get that Eadlyn was supposed to be annoying and entitled so that she could have a redemption arc, but I hated her then and while I never loved her, I did like her a bit more in this book than in the last one. I cried THREE TIMES. I was really rooting for Kile, I have to say.
I did appreciate Eadlyn trying to pick Henri and Henri being like “bitch I can’t speak English but I can smell a liar a mile away” and graciously telling Eadlyn that he knows she's in love with Erik.
Also I feel like the decision to turn the country into a Constitutional Monarchy maybe should've taken longer than 2.2 seconds but I am not in politics so what do I know?
The reason this got 4/5 instead of 5/5 is because the end didn’t make a lick of sense and her and Erik seemed rushed.
As with the original Selection trilogy, the author does a really, really amazing job at developing individual personalities and quirks that make you fall for every single person in the competition in a different way.

Eadlyn is stubborn & spoiled and really fucking annoying high key, but I get that she needed to be in order for her whole redemption arc and the moral of the story. I'm rooting for Kile tbh. I will say good for Ahren for giving Eadlyn the hard, hard truth about herself.
I do feel as though the original three Selection books should have been the end of the series.
