Was this fun and funny and based on a topic I believe in? Absolutely. I have never been for book banning, nor do I ever see myself changing that view in the future.

The premise of this was kind of delightful and made me laugh. A woman in town decides what books get pulled from the public library's shelves, and in return she offers a selection of "acceptable" books in her own little free library. But someone in town uses the cover of night to put the covers of the "acceptable" books on physical copies of the banned books instead. The result? Someone thinking they're picking up a "wholesome" book is introduced to a book about witchcraft. Or Black heroes. Or a gay character. Or feminism. You get the picture.

While I found this to be mostly fun, it also felt like the book was shoving it's messaging down my throat over and over and over again. I am on the same side as the author and even I got tired of it.

Content: language; discussion of topics in books that commonly get banned like sex, lgbtq+, etc; Nazis and Antisemitism; and more. I can't remedy it all.

I thought this SNL-inspired rom com was very cute! It's broken into two sections. The first focuses on our two main characters meeting during a week prepping for an SNL type sketch show. The second is a few years later during covid where they reconnect as email pen pals.

While the main character's lack of self confidence did get a little repetitive, it was also very understandable and, for me, relatable.

There were a couple of brief open door scenes that are easily skipped.

This was pretty fun. I picked it up purely because I work at a library and someone had this on hold. I found the title delightful, because when I was trained I had to watch a video called Murders in the Stacks. A very cheesy, Sherlock Holmes inspired video. So I just had to try this one.

It was a fun cozy mystery. I adore the library settings and references. And a fun coincidence? They mentioned a lesser-known Dr. Seuss book mere minutes before I pulled the very same book for the hold list. What? That's crazy.

Anyway, I may check out other books in this library based cozy series. They seem like they might be fun.
