The Gardins of Edin by Rosey Lee
4.0
Overall: 4 stars
This is a book about a family learning to communicate with each other after the death of the family member that was the glue that held the family together. Due to this miscommunication, all were dealing with the same issues, but afraid to express that to each other. It took two different medical emergencies to bring the family together and get them to learn to communicate with each other.
I loved how the book focused on healthy cooking while keeping the taste of soul food. It also normalized the importance of mental health and seeking help when needed.
I received this as a digital arc and physical arc in exchange for a for an honest review.

Disappointed this told to me that it was a spicy book but don't think we have the same definition of spicy. It toyed around girlfriend dumps boyfriend, falls her his father who's into dom/sub dynamic while start a sex club. Def could the markings of being better then 50 Shades but fell shott.
Bachelorette Number Twelve by Jae
3.0
This was my first Jae book, and I was underwhelmed. It took until 21 chapters to get any kind of spice, then it was PG at best. I would say about 10 chapters were spent on the same self sabotage thought and actions, which the author had already fully developed and was overkill.
Over the story and characters development was good, which is the only reason I gave a 3 instead of a 2.
