Salt Planet Giants: Books 1-3 by Sara Ivy Hill

♥ARC REVIEW♥
I have so much to say about these books, so I’ll go book by book. However, if you don’t want to read all that, just know I loved this book. This series was awesome, and I highly recommend it! Please read it! ♥
♥Book 1 The Mountain’s Mate♥
This was a sweet, short intro to the series; I loved it. It was quick, but the plot was captivating, and the characters were interesting. Both the MCs were likable. I was sad for a moment when I realized there would never be any way for the MCs to...fit THAT in, but it works so well, and it makes sense; he’s a giant, and she’s a human! So, instead, he gets an exciting massage, lol.
10/10. This was a spicy, fun time.
♥Book 2 The Ballast’s Bride♥
Mimma was such a little firecracker. I love how she had Hinri wrapped around her finger from the start!
It was so interesting to see how Book One intertwined with Book Two! This book was much longer and provided more information on the world and the Nighborn. I was a little annoyed at Mimma for a bit because I felt like she was becoming a doormat, but I realized she was surviving, plus she stepped out and started taking back her life! I LOVED her. She was so weighed down by obligations and forced loyalty that it made me so proud that she chose her own path in the end and did what was best for her.
There are a bunch of little bits of this story I thought were terrific; I loved the Wave Wife tale, Davey, and I was excited to learn about the secrets the colony has (trying not to post too many spoilers), and the epilogue made me cry. I love my sister, and can’t imagine being parted for two decades!! This book was a joy from start to finish!
♥Book 3 The Ruin’s Revenge♥
This was my favorite book of the three; I cried so much for Alrek. He was so focused on his grief and pain that he was not even living, just going through the motions until he met Raina. I adored Raina; she was a beautiful character who was full of compassion and anxiety. I can relate to the anxiety. I initially didn't like the miscommunications because sometimes, in books, it can be frustrating, but in this story, they make sense and aren’t overdone. He's dealing with the guilt of wanting someone other than his late mate, and she is in a whole new social situation she's never navigated before, so it worked so well.
It all ended so happily. I was in love with both of the MCs and their growth, especially Alrek and his journey through his grief.
I'm sobbing over a tusk cozy over here.

For such a short book, I was surprised at how much of a story they fit! It was a fun, super easy read. I really liked the pack and the FMC, they all worked well together. I like how silly it was, but also, it wasn't, like, jokey. Hammer aliens with lemonade flavor?! It was funny in the best way and I'm really looking forward to hopefully getting more books from this crazy world.
Super fast fun, spicy little read!

Taming the Deer Demon by Stephanie M. Allen

Aww, ok, I really loved Deer Boy. (also, that nickname is just really cute) I liked how awkward and inexperienced he was in the beginning, but then it felt like midway through, he was just suddenly super confident and could do it all. I still loved him, and I was glad that he and Christine were able to figure it out. I would have loved to see more of them coming to terms with their relationship bc he went from kidnapping her to leaving her really fast lol. But Christine did fall fast and they worked really well together. He was so sweet in caring for her when her migraine came on!
I loved Cambrion the most; he is such a sweetheart, and I loved all the ear twitches and his little tail! 10/10. I would love to snuggle Deer Boy. I am super interested in this world!! I cannot wait for more books because I want to know about all the Forest Lords and why they were cursed and what needs to be done to break them.

I don't have the words to tell you how much I loved this book. The Characters, the storylines, the setting, dialogue. AH! Every bit was so good.
I loved Seb immediately; he was grumpy and rude, and I knew he was secretly such a sweet cinnamon roll. Mara was so fierce. Oh my god, she's amazing. She is so beautiful, and I LOVED how she stood up to Seb and wasn't afraid to speak her mind or ask for space or what she needed.
The mystery/second storyline that was happening, along with the romance, had me captivated. I was so interested to know what was happening with the salts, the signs, and finding information about settlers! Like I was along for the ride, and I loved it. The islands are so interesting, and I hope to keep learning more in the next book.
This book was just incredible, I cannot recommend it enough. It was the best reading experience.

I Married a Dragon by Regine Abel
3.0
Cedros is really cute!!! This book had a lot of world-building and way more action in the beginning than I'm used to, but it was great. I loved that he needed the cuddles, like it was the best part of forced proximity/only one bed. I didn't feel super interested in Kaida, she has her job with the UPO, but we learn nothing else about her; she didn't have a lot of character depth. Other than getting over her human modesty and working, we didn't really get anywhere with her.
I still love this series and Im really looking forward to reading more, this just wasn't my favorite in the series so far.

Enchanting the Elf by Elle Sterling
Ah I have so much love for this book. It was such a joy to read!! Florence is such a sunshine sweet girl, like what in the world she’s too kind! I was looking forward to her rubbing off on her grumpy mate, but getting to know his story and all the weight he had on his shoulders I felt so bad for him! I feel like they ended up complimenting each other so well. He helped her speak up for herself and she helped him live for himself. Ah and I live the fated mates but being able to control your own destiny, choosing your partner on your own terms is just so romantic. I love them both and I love the life they built together 10/10 AND Sir Purrington is the best kitty!!
