Salt Planet Giants: Books 1-3 by Sara Ivy Hill

♥ARC REVIEW♥
I have so much to say about these books, so I’ll go book by book. However, if you don’t want to read all that, just know I loved this book. This series was awesome, and I highly recommend it! Please read it! ♥
♥Book 1 The Mountain’s Mate♥
This was a sweet, short intro to the series; I loved it. It was quick, but the plot was captivating, and the characters were interesting. Both the MCs were likable. I was sad for a moment when I realized there would never be any way for the MCs to...fit THAT in, but it works so well, and it makes sense; he’s a giant, and she’s a human! So, instead, he gets an exciting massage, lol.
10/10. This was a spicy, fun time.
♥Book 2 The Ballast’s Bride♥
Mimma was such a little firecracker. I love how she had Hinri wrapped around her finger from the start!
It was so interesting to see how Book One intertwined with Book Two! This book was much longer and provided more information on the world and the Nighborn. I was a little annoyed at Mimma for a bit because I felt like she was becoming a doormat, but I realized she was surviving, plus she stepped out and started taking back her life! I LOVED her. She was so weighed down by obligations and forced loyalty that it made me so proud that she chose her own path in the end and did what was best for her.
There are a bunch of little bits of this story I thought were terrific; I loved the Wave Wife tale, Davey, and I was excited to learn about the secrets the colony has (trying not to post too many spoilers), and the epilogue made me cry. I love my sister, and can’t imagine being parted for two decades!! This book was a joy from start to finish!
♥Book 3 The Ruin’s Revenge♥
This was my favorite book of the three; I cried so much for Alrek. He was so focused on his grief and pain that he was not even living, just going through the motions until he met Raina. I adored Raina; she was a beautiful character who was full of compassion and anxiety. I can relate to the anxiety. I initially didn't like the miscommunications because sometimes, in books, it can be frustrating, but in this story, they make sense and aren’t overdone. He's dealing with the guilt of wanting someone other than his late mate, and she is in a whole new social situation she's never navigated before, so it worked so well.
It all ended so happily. I was in love with both of the MCs and their growth, especially Alrek and his journey through his grief.
I'm sobbing over a tusk cozy over here.
