I really liked the bizarre-ness of the story, I loved the twist that Victoria’s letter at the end brings in, and that we’re left to decide for ourselves who’s telling the truth (I tend to think it’s her) . I would have preferred that Alasdair Gray’s footnotes listed at the end had been integrated either with numbered notes to reference as you go along or as actual footnotes on the page (most preferable), I’m not sure I see the benefit to reading them all at once at the end and to me it felt oddly disruptive to the flow of the story.

Only read this if you’re okay reading a book in which literally nothing happens until the last 30 pages and still is the most anticlimactic “thriller” of all time.

Got a bit of a weird ableist vibe from a few things that put me off. Might circle back at some point, I did like some of the things she said and I love the author’s instagram.
