This was just a super sweet holiday novella. The story itself was not world changing. BUT it gets bonus points for Christmas spirit. The audiobook really transported you into a hallmark adventure whilst the illustrations by Rosie made the physical book just so so special.

She is giving feminist maverick. He is brooding. She is quick to dive coochie first into an adjacent arranged marriage. He is brooding. She lights herself on fire and can yeet a mofo at the drop of a hat. He is still brooding.

This book was a blast (no fire related pun intended).

It scratched the itch so perfectly. It was the perfect combination or lore, plot, spice and impeccable pacing that I was never bored and always hooked.

Kasia was the perfect combination of I don’t know shit but also I do know things. It made learning the world with her feel natural and kept the story from falling into the naive FMC trope which I despise.

Brand is a broody boi who should have gone to therapy but I will take it if he can vibrate like that.

Cannot wait to smash out the rest of the series because this is just so refreshing and fun to read.

Thank you HQ 🖤

No one look at me for 5 business days while I recover.

How do I describe the perfection of this book? It has such LUSH prose. The smallest details of the vinegar used on the food, or the way you could feel the weight of the clothing on your body. The warmth of the lightweave and the cold of the shadow fold. Like all of this alone is so deeply beautiful.

And then you have the tension and angst and longing. You have two people with every reason not to love each other, plus a severe lack of knowledge on how to love someone, fighting the slow burn and it is DELICIOUS.

Thea feeds us with the spice in this book and I feel like I’m on an episode of hot ones with the way this book just had me sweating and yet I am gobbling every morsel down.

Someone tell Alaric he is DOWN BAD because boy has got to know. God help the people of book 3 because it’s about to go off.

If there is a thing Rebecca Ross is gonna do, it is going to be write a declaration of love and longing that is going to burn into the back of your eyelids and ruin you.

There are some GORGEOUS prose in here but not enough body to the rest of the story. Wanted to love it and would say I loved moments of it.

Love this author. Love all the girls, gays and theys. Love the hallmark energy.

(Just don’t love second chance because of essentially miscommunication.)

This book gets five stars from each lip (vaginal and otherwise).

This book consumed me. It absorbed all of my brain cells and I swear to gods the raccoon climbed out of the book and held a finger gun to my head and forced me to ignore all my responsibilities and read this book in just over 12 hours.

This book was chefs kiss perfection. The banter absolutely sent me. I was cry laughing at Bertha the humpback whale. Her absolute minus zero social skills killed me. Alexis alone stole my heart. Then you give me a range of animal side kids and I’m ready to give you my credit card information for all time.

BUT THEN. You have raccoon daddy. You have double hell dog daddy. THEN MUZZLED MM??!?! GET OUTTA HERE BECAUSE I CANT TAKE IT. I am also

I loved every minute and now I am in a deep dark pit of Tartarus level depression waiting for the next book.

Also can we please get free the nips and lips merch? TY!

This book was battling the entire scope of my reality to keep my attention. Like why did I pick this up at the end of a US election cycle? Who knows. But it meant that I struggled to get into this book. When I finally did get locked in I loved it. I cackled. I clenched (multiple parts). It was great it was fine I had a great time.
