I understand why everyone in the 1800s want to have sex with him because if I was alive in the 1800s and I read this I’d want to sleep with him too because I’ve read this in 2024 and I would sleep with him. 10 points to the narrator for doing the bird voice for the bird poems.

I thought this book was a nonfiction about octopuses. I was very wrong. It is an overly convenient, saccharine lit fic that was extremely annoying. The main character was the most whiny 30 year old man I’ve read about in a while.

It was interesting. I was expecting something a little more horror and a bit better from what I’ve heard. Everything kinda mushed together in the end.

I think this book could be really good if the author didn’t feel the need to explain everything and to over explain all the references and allusions. It was like she was scared you weren’t going to get things so she points them out to you in case. Very annoying and unnecessary.

Honestly a lot of this book is Laurence just being told what to do and then doing it. Which can get a bit annoying. He doesn’t really have agency in a lot of the actions. Things just happen to him. But the ending really blew me away!!

These books are fun. Not the greatest thing I’ve ever read but I enjoy listening to them.

Honestly good! Very interesting. But the author tried to be funny sometimes and I’m just not into that.
