Solid 3.5.
I read this for a bookclub.

I'm not a contemporary romance reader so I went into this with low expectations. I generally read fantasy and adventure , so please keep that in mind while reading my review. This is also why I rounded up the stars to 4 from 3.5.

(+) It's a decent book with great character build. Daniel constantly made me laugh out loud, which added half star

**ETA**
THIS ENDED UP BEING MY FAVORITE READ OF 2019

This was the first good stand alone book I've read in a while. Deeply interesting, great world and character building, mysterious and dark...and oh oh so creepy!! I wish I could add one more star just for the writing style!!

Rating 3.5

I once again struggled with rating this. I LOVED "Caraval" and "Legendary", but the last installment "Finale" was a let down. I decided to be generous in my rating and went to 4 stars since I did adore the other two.

What I liked about it:
*The immersion into the Fates history
*All the characters
*The magic system

What I didn't like:
*The too quick and too happy ending
*Throw away but interesting characters that should have had more story
*Felt rushed
*A handful of unnecessary page fluffing scenes and side plots.

Ultimately I feel like Garber just wanted to be done with the series and ended it here. It would have been amazing to see it as a four book series, seeing more of the Fates story, more conflict or tragedy, and giving some interesting characters more justice (Like Paradise and her possible lineage, all the Fates, really).

I wanted to love this book considering I adored the first two, but alas I cannot say I did.

This book was a genuine surprise for me. I half expected to hate it, and I almost DNFed it after a few pages of flashbacks, but I'm so glad I kept going.

What I loved about it:
*It surprised me.
*It was hilarious at parts
*Writing style was unique, quirky and fun to read.
*Desmond is an absolute dream
*Temperance was hysterical
*The real life heartbreaking trauma Callie went through
*Steamy smut that wasn't gratuitous.

What I did not like:
*The main character, Callie in the beginning
*The underage love and lust... Weirded me out.

Overall I really enjoyed this book and will absolutely finish the series. I can see how her writing style might rub some readers the wrong way, but boy I got a few good chuckles in. Temperance's colorful language was my favorite- "Girl, you must have a vagina of gold". Lol!

*ETA : I want to make it clear I did not enjoy that she had been sexual assaulted, I was meaning I enjoyed the fact that this was included in such a raw, real way. I found myself affected deeply by it.

Woooo boy, I really loved this book. Full on 5 stars for me!
Basically it's Avatar:The Last Airbender meets A Court of Thorns and Roses...

What I loved:
*The magic system!
*The hate to love trope
*The Characters
*The World Building
*Writing Style

What I didn't like:
*How angsty Vhalla starts off. It's annoying.
*The miscommunications between of the two MCs. It made sense to the story but jeeesus it drove me crazy lol. It annoys me when people can't communicate in RL too though so take it as it is.
*The name pronounciations are wack. I am probably saying half the names wrong.

Overall it was an incredible enjoyable read. Elise Kova has a remarkable way of writing that makes you FEEL things. I cried, laughed out loud, yelled and cringed throughout the book. This doesn't usually happen for me so I was very surprised and happy!

I'm hoping to see more romance, adventure , magic and drama headed into the next book!
