A slow start led into a wonderfully intense ending. There were many laughs, many tears and a scream of horror at the cliff hanger ending! WTH! I AM NOT OKAY.
Giving up all of my responsibility to start book three right now. The house can clean itself.

This has been my favorite AND least favorite book in the series so far.
Let's just say the end has me TORN THE HELL UP.
I don't think I've cried over words said in a book as much as I did at the end of this one.

Probably the slowest paced of the book series, but also one of the most heart wrenching.
It may have been slower paced, but was necessary to build on the already amazing world.
Longer review to come after I finish the series.

I have to say I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first one. It dragged a little more, with only the last couple of chapters really getting exciting. It was still fun to read, with a lot of interesting characters and oh yes, that hot steamy romance.
I did find myself struggling with a few things maybe I overlooked in the first book.
For one, maybe I missed it but I didn't realize Temper was African American. Now this is no way a problem for me, I actually love the representation of a strong, bad ass female sorcereress, And I really love this character! But after reading this book, I'm realizing how unfairly stereotypically she was written which greatly disappoints me. Despite this though, she is definitely one of the most fun characters to read.

Now for Des. Hot, hot Des. I can appreciate his darkness, but he bordered on being a bit abusive in this book and some parts left me uncomfortable. Forcing her to do things she didn't want to do and using sex as a tool and weapon, especially as she was a victim of rape over and over (why would she put up with that BS is beyond me)... It just didn't sit right with me. Not to mention the things he hides from her, gees. I suppose that it all could just be fairy nonsense, haha! But the fact remains as a reader it was disturbing to read and put me off at some parts.

Overall, despite the things that bothered me, I did enjoy the book and the series as a whole. I will be reading the last one and hope to feel less

I DNFed at 74%.
I just could not take It. The ridiculous MCs and the love triangle... Kill me now.
I feel like I read enough of it to leave a star review, which I'm giving 2.5.
I'll have to leave a longer review soon, but all you really need to know is that I disliked it and was highly disappointed based on what I expected by reviews. Boo.
