Probably one of the best books I've ever read. It was intense and captivating and I did not expect the ending.

I loved this book!!! It was unique, creative, captivating and wonderfully written. I am a new Schwab fan ! Can't wait to jump into the second book!!

I struggled with what to rate this book. I landed on three stars, which I think is fair enough.
I listened to it on Audible, and I honestly did not like the narrator. She wasn't terrible, but at a lot of parts, her tone and voice made "intimate" and "Exciting" parts cheesy which really Affected my connection to the story. I think I may have enjoyed the story better if I had actually read the book, but I'm not certain. It was a decent storyline and I love the overall theme, but it was be also incredibly predictable. I am currently debating if I want to read the next one or not. If I do it will most definitely be an actual book.

This book was one of the bigger disappointments I've had with a book. I was incredibly excited for this book based on the beautiful cover, and the promise of goth romance and vampires... Which turns out, there was very very little of. The first half of the book I really enjoyed and felt for the sisters but the interest quickly disappears as the second half of the book drones on. I felt like this should have been stretched to two books, and would have done well with more back story about the "Dragon" . The ending seemed very rushed and the end was, well, boring.
I can appreciate this authors beautiful writing style, and character building. But that's about it. I really wish there had been more to it. Bummer!

A decent read with interesting and unique magical elements. It's the age old tale of hate turned to love which I adore, and Mahurin did a great job with that, and her smutty scene was so well written, and romantic, I just wish there was more of a that in the book.
Lou is a GEM, I adored her character and her sarcastic quips, I audibly giggled many times. I did not fall in love with Reid , however. I felt like his character build fell flat.
Overall I did enjoy this book. I look forward to the next one which I'm not happy about waiting a year for!

Great world building, character depth (even one you only hear about for more than half the book). I genuinely felt for the MCs and grew very attached.

I very much enjoyed this book and look forward to seeing what happens.

The only gripes I have is really how rushed the book felt and the random first kiss that came out of nowhere and surprised the MC and myself. Lol. It had no lead up and felt forced , but everything after that was great.

Overall, excited to see what happens next!!!
