The Two Lives of Lydia Bird by Josie Silver
5.0
Let me be honest, I thought this would be a slow read for me because of the synopsis, but I was wrong. Dear future Allie, never judge a book by it’s synopsis! I FINISHED IT IN ONE SITTING. YES. IT WAS THAT GOOD. I was laughing, I was crying, I was smiling, I was tearing up. This book was such an emotional roller coaster for me.
This book follows the story of Lydia Bird, whose boyfriend, Freddie Hunter, died on her birthday. Yes. Tragic. So tragic. I couldn’t imagine losing someone so close to me on my special day. Throughout her recovery, I could feel her pain and sadness. It’s crazy. It was a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions as if I was in Lydia’s shoes experiencing it with her. It sounds crazy but this book–to me–is one of those books that will make you feel plenty of emotions all at once.
I would 100% recommend this contemporary and romance lovers. I swear it’s worth the read. You will feel lots of emotions as it progresses and I can assure you, you will definitely cheer for Lydia in the end as I did.

An Ocean of Grey by Kamalia Hasni
5.0
An Ocean of Grey is a book of love, heartbreak, pain and healing.
I’ve seen this book everywhere and a lot of my friends have read this. Thank you to the author and the publishing company, I get to read it for free this quarantine season.
I love how some of the poetries resonate with me. It doesn’t necessarily have to be about heartbreak after break-ups. These poems relate to me in a general sense and I love that.
The illustrations are so beautiful too

City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare

I kind of like this book better than City of Bones actually. I don’t know. I’m confused. The story is just so intriguing! I keep wanting more and more and the fact that having the movie and the show casts in my head helps me imagine the story even better!
I really love Simon’s character development in this book. When he described Magnus as a “gay Sonic the Hedgehog” I laughed so bad because of the accuracy. He’s gay and he has blue hair. Overall, I love his sarcastic ass so much.
Jace, oh my god, you poor confused baby. Should’ve stopped stumbling into your daddy!! Also, both you and Clary have some issues and y’all need to settle that okay. Also, stop making jokes. My tummy hurts from laughing.
Overall, SO GOOD! Why did I put off this book for so long omg

I love how this book focuses on Simon a lot and how he is adapting to being a vampire. I truly didn’t expect Kyle to be a werewolf. Was hoping he break that news to Eric and the band too

The jokes in this book are so funny! I loved it. It’s fitting for such a crisis happening around them. My favourite one was one Magnus thought Simon ate Chairman Meow
Daughter of Chaos by Sarah Rees Brennan
5.0
Like Season of the Witch, Daughter of Chaos is an alternate universe of the original show. But I find that this book kept more parts of the show in it mixed with the original story of the book. (This might not make any sense but I donʼt know how to describe this better)
I also find that this book centered a bit more around Harvey. Which Iʼm okay with because Harvey is one of my favourite characters. His friendship with Nick is one of the most entertaining things ever. I love them both together.
However, Harbrina has sailed and Nabrina is thriving. I was such a fan of Harbrina until Nabrina happened. Now I am a child of Nabrina. Hehe.
So excited for Path of Night to come out! Also, Part 3 is streaming on Netflix tomorrow! Yay!
