The Two Lives of Lydia Bird by Josie Silver
5.0
Let me be honest, I thought this would be a slow read for me because of the synopsis, but I was wrong. Dear future Allie, never judge a book by it’s synopsis! I FINISHED IT IN ONE SITTING. YES. IT WAS THAT GOOD. I was laughing, I was crying, I was smiling, I was tearing up. This book was such an emotional roller coaster for me.
This book follows the story of Lydia Bird, whose boyfriend, Freddie Hunter, died on her birthday. Yes. Tragic. So tragic. I couldn’t imagine losing someone so close to me on my special day. Throughout her recovery, I could feel her pain and sadness. It’s crazy. It was a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions as if I was in Lydia’s shoes experiencing it with her. It sounds crazy but this book–to me–is one of those books that will make you feel plenty of emotions all at once.
I would 100% recommend this contemporary and romance lovers. I swear it’s worth the read. You will feel lots of emotions as it progresses and I can assure you, you will definitely cheer for Lydia in the end as I did.
