I love this series. I can't believe we're on book 21 already. I also can't believe that they are still just as good as the first. I don't think there's a bad book in this series. Kim is an incredible leader and you can tell how much she loves her team. The team works so well together and I really enjoy getting to see little bits about their personal lives. Even Frost has grown on me and I've obviously been reading too much enemies to lovers romance because her and Kim would make such a cute couple.

The case was interesting and the 36 hour time limit amps up the tension. I did guess who the bad guy was but it didn't ruin it because there was still the suspense of whether they would work it out in time. There were some heartbreaking parts. I did feel a bit bad for the Doctor because everyone was more concerned about the child.

I'm intrigued to see what will happen with the new journalist who has his sights on Kim. Definitely recommend if you like a police procedural with a lovable team.

The cover of this book is absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, the content fell a bit flat for me. I did like both Jessica and Vini and it is a cute sapphic romance. The pacing was confusing though. We race through their "relationship" with big time jumps but nothing really happens. All they seemed to do was eat or have sex. We're supposed to believe they're feeling more for each other than just a fling but we never see them just interacting or having deep conversations. They don't know anything about each other. I didn't feel a connection to the characters.

The sister drama was so ridiculous. They are grown adults and the argument blowing up was a mess. It made the third act breakup feel really immature. The end was cute though I did love some of the side characters as well. Vini's dad was sweet and Aiden seemed like a great guy.
This is the second book in an interconnected series and I don't think I'll go back for the first

This was such a fun premise and I loved seeing Hayley being thrown into such a different world. She took it like a champ and handled all the knock backs. The setting was written so well it felt like I was there with them. I loved all of the side characters and it seemed like a fun place to be.

I found the pacing slowed in the middle and there wasn't much romance to have me rooting for them as a couple. The end was adorable and it's a cute easy read.

It was a bit confusing at the start when Hayley spoke like an australian before she'd even got there but I soon got used to it.

I really enjoyed this book until the 3rd act conflict. Rosie's reaction felt over the top and she came across as so immature. It was also pretty obvious throughout the book what was going to happen, although I wasn't expecting Rosie to be quite so dramatic.

The rest of the book was great. I loved the slow burn enemies to lovers.  I loved the grumpy x sunshine. Their banter was hilarious although I don't know how they got away with behaving like that in their class for so long. There are some great side characters and I loved learning more about Rosie's Peruvian heritage and her adorable family.

The book within a book did slow the pace down a bit because the plot was pretty much Aiden and Rosie's relationship. It made it a bit repetitive but it did mean we got some insight into what Aiden was feeling. The shared Google doc and co-writing the spicy scenes was so good. I was impressed by their confidence to read their chapters out loud in front of everyone who knew it was about themselves.

I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more from Katie Holt
