Finding Hayes by Laura Pavlov

This is a cute small town romance. It is predictable but it makes it a fun easy read. I would say that whilst I did enjoy the series I wouldn't read them one after the other because they follow the same formula making it a bit repetitive. However, with a break between they are great.

I loved both Sav and Hayes and their sarcastic banter was hilarious. I'm normally not a fan of miscommunication but I'll let them off because they were teens going through a lot of drama. I also like the fact that Hayes learned from his mistakes and made sure to communicate better. It was a mix of heartbreaking and sweet reading his letters from the past. The realisation they both had at the end made the whole story even better.

My favourite thing about this series is the found family element. There are so many fantastic recurring characters. They add even more banter and the boys' group chat is highly entertaining. They just seem like the best friendship group. And as always, much love for beefcake.

This is such a great series. I love Bree and her family and how much they've all grown together. I didn't realise I had missed a book, a collab with Kendra Elliot, that introduced a new character but it didn't take away from the story. She's a great addition and I look forward to getting to know her more. There are so many great characters. As with all of Melinda's books, there are plenty of twists and turns to keep you hooked and I definitely hadn't guessed the end.

Second chance romance isn't my first choice but when it's done well it's worth it and this is a fantastic second chance romance. I loved that both characters were pretty mature and there wasn't much negativity. The angst is perfect and the character growth had me rooting for them. It's an emotional rollercoaster, it made me laugh (the bear) and cry. It's sweet, spicy, and heartbreaking in places.

The handling of the loss of a parent was beautifully done and I think the scenes with Laura Lee were some of my favourites.

The chemistry and tension between Aurora and Wyatt was incredible but they were also so sweet together. Wyatt is a dream book boyfriend. I mean the house, I wouldve married him on the spot.

There are some great side characters. Lexi really grew on me and I look forward to seeing more of her. Duke was definitely a favourite as well. Highly recommend and I look forward to returning to Smoky Heights.
