an epic cosmic horror novel with complex gods, a strong autistic main character, and some great philosophical questions brought up in the mix. enjoyable ride!
if i read the next book it will be because i’m fascinated by the fucked up, love-hate, complicated relationship dynamic between elu and  akavi.

this was such a nice, self contained science fiction story with a strong main character; his struggles with PTSD, OCD, and depression provides insight on how he copes with loneliness as well as war.
the discussions around being a soldier in a war one doesn’t truly believe in were extremely poignant for such a quick novel!
