This is a 4 1/2 star book for me. I loved Jane, I loved august. One of my fave books.
The only reason for a half a star deduction was because the chapters are so long so I kept losing interest a little ways through a chapter but I listened to them on audiobook and it was much better.
But other than that it was a great book and Casey is a genius who I love so much 🥹

Woah! What a book! Those twists at the end 🤯
Incredible writing
Incredible story
It was heartbreaking. Poor Yasmin. I cannot fathom the thought of losing 2 children in horrific ways.
I highly highly recommend reading this.

It was creepy. It was intense. It was sad. It was good!
This was my first time reading one of Lisa’s books and honestly I have to read more!
This gave me the chills reading it!
The fact there’s people out in the world who are like that just gives me the heebee Jeebees

This book is cute, has funny moments, has emotional moments and has a happy ending. What more could you want?
I will say I did not like Emmett too much. I found him very selfish and only thinking of himself at times.
Luke has my heart though! I love him and I loved his journey to finding out about who he is and who his family is.
If this is ever made into a movie I think Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine should play Luke and Emmett 👀
I definitely recommend reading this!

I think this could be the first fantasy book where I actually liked pretty much majority of the characters!
It’s definitely a fantasy book in every sense of the word. Vampires, Humans, Magic. The story kept you intrigued and it kept you wanting more. I don’t know how many nights I ended up staying awake because I didn’t want to put it down!
I loved Mische, Oraya, Raihn, Vincent etc.
I’m excited to read book 2!

Ugh no book has ever made me emotional like this one has. I see so much of myself in Ben. As a non binary person myself who’s struggled with coming out and struggled with even coming to terms I related so much to Ben. I understood their fear, anxiety and doubt. I was rooting for Ben and Nathan the whole book! I’m so glad they ended up together!
Navigating the world as an adult who comes out as non binary is difficult.. I could not imagine being a teenager who’s trying to navigate life, family and friends and on top of that their identity. I feel like Ben did an incredible job at trying to get through everything.
Can we talk about how horrible their parents are though? All any LGBTQ+ person wants is to be accepted by the people who are suppose to love them. I was so angered by their reaction to Ben. The blatant disrespect for them and their identity hurt me as if it was being done to me.
Everyone needs a Hannah! Everyone needs a Nathan! Everyone needs a Mariam! Everyone needs a Dr Taylor!
This has become one of my fave books now. I finally found a book where I, a non binary person who uses they/them, can feel seen and represented.
Thank you Mason Deaver. Thank you.

It had me gripped from the beginning
I did not see that plot twist coming at all. Definitely recommend reading this if you’re looking for an unputdownable thriller!
