Such a sweet, sweet slow burn from Vanessa Rasanen! I'm pretty sure I've not previously read a fae romantasy with the fake dating trope but I'm totally here for it now. The main characters made me squeal, laugh, and yell; as well as some of the side ones (Matthiasssss).

While a touch predictable in the fae vs humans war story line, Vanessa adds little quirks to make it her own. But I won't tell you waht they are. 😉 Same with the tropes, she may have used some well loved favorites like one-bed, miscommunication, fated mates, and royal with servant; but the situations and character background was so carefully crafted they were perfect.

A nearly perfect romantasy for lovers of Tessonja Odette, ACOTAR, or L.J. Andrews.

What a stunning finale to Erik and Livie's duet. The passion of these two lovers leaps off the pages while ripping your heart out in sympathy for every obstacle in their paths.

The Ever Queen starts where The Ever King ended, with the newly crowned queen kidnapped by an unexpected betrayal. And it takes all of its over 450 pages to wrap almost every piece of the Ever Seas story in a nice blood-red happily ever after bow. There is such a depth and growth of every character within these pages, for both better and worse in some aspects, that you can't help rooting for each one no matter how brutally they are willing to remove their enemies. Who hasn't wished to wear the bones of those who assaulted them as a crown?

A fabulous fae romantasy with Captain Hook and Pirates of the Caribbean vibes, I definitely recommend it!

Small town "enemies" to lovers that gets oh so steamy in a tattoo shop. Who wouldn't love a tattooed motorcycle riding emergency rescue technician named Ryan? OK so I might be biased with this one; it might be a little "close to home" so to speak. 😂

Even though it's short, Dani is able to tell a complete story to make you love her characters and empathize with them. It was awesome to see Jane's evolution, coming into herself.

I've seen and heard about Jekyll and Hyde in various media over the years and was slightly shocked when I first heard a description of Hyde in this book. The Hulk is obviously a sort of rewrite of J&H but in such a way that it completely disregards the original point of Stevenson's story. Yes, it hits on the point of the duality of human nature but it misses the evolution of Jekyll's character and how it thus affects Hyde's. I enjoyed how the story was told through a sort of amateur mystery lens, it made it more enjoyable to follow than if it had been told completely introspectively from Jekyll's point of view.
