This book made me laughed and cried out loud, and made me realised I truly have never had an original experience in my life (bar the admin access to my coworkers’ emails)

I don't know if Richard Osman will make this book a series or not, but if yes I can already see it being as successful as The Thursday Murder Club. It explored the topic of familial love and grief both elegantly and lightheartedly through the unusually close relationship between a pair of father and daughter in law.

Oh how I hope that this will be a series!

Very surprising to find out from the other reviews that this is the author's first novel. I'll be eager to read her following ones.

It was an engaging read from start to finish, but being familiar with this genre, I was expecting a bit more in terms of plot and reveal. The cabin fever effect of the characters being locked in Antartica would be a great avenue to go down to, but unfortunately it seems underdeveloped for me (and explained in the end in a very convenient way).
