it is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.

finally, i reread this from a mature point of view and i honestly think that this has a much deeper meaning than it usually lets on— a children's book. i understood things that weren't easy to grasp when i first read this. likewise, i think that this book is equally for grown-ups as it is for children.

now, reading this as an almost grown-up, i got bombarded with feelings and emotions that are purposefully hidden and mixed with the words that are supposedly for the children who are too naive to actually process what the statements really meant. before, i didn't know that the little prince died because it was written as if he was going back home to his own little asteroid home. it allowed me to unearth emotions that i left buried in the hopes that i would no longer be able to cross paths with them, but it's okay. this is beautiful.

this is for the grown-ups who had inevitably met their own roses and foxes that they tamed and tend to for as long as they could. this is for the grown-ups who would want to look back and relieve their childhood that they cannot change anymore unlike the little prince that most definitely could.

i could never look at the stars the same way without hearing a laugher that would remind me of that little boy, with golden curls and plenty of questions, that has a rose unique to him.

i have been waiting for weeks to read this book and i am not disappointed AT ALL

shocked was i at every turn and twist of this book! i was deeply astonished at how the characters were so well-thought-out together especially the added side characters (the spirits!) it's safe to say that i prefer this to belladonna though it still has a special place in my heart, obviously

i can't wait to hear more about fate and blythe in wisteria, i'm hoping, as they clearly vexed me a little bit while pushing through to the end!

"rivals in academics but also basically in everything else."

sadie wen & julius gong are so infuriating for all the times they insult each other but they really meant the opposite— the rivalry is so chef's kiss

the way i TOTALLY related to sadie wen, not with the pathological people pleaser thing, but with the fact that she just absorbs everything that is being thrown at her; may it be stress, responsibility, the weight of inconsiderate classmates, etc. it is also saddening how, like me, she basically HAD TO grow up fast and not enjoy her teen years. when i read that scene, it reminded me of how alice sun can relate to that. they both are just a kid, after all.

while sadie is the one who puts pressure to herself, however, julius gong is not like that. he may appear so well-clothed, prepared, and unfazed by sadie but he would do anything for her as well. they both are so different from each other yet so alike. no joke, their chemistry is undeniably good.

yep, they're both obsessed with each other. i hope this finds them & ann liang well. i loved them so much!

it is so good to say that the storyline was so cool and somewhat unique that it immediately piqued my interest i couldn't put my kindle down— princess of dawn is such a refreshing take on a whole new fantasy world where elements of wind, water, and fire also exist

princess galdinia is so fierce knowing that she has to suffer through things at an early age, i am very much thankful for neryda for being there with her (i love them sm) ALSO bentley is just full of surprises
