This Wicked Fate by Kalynn Bayron

I liked this one even better than the first book. I love the deep love and sacrifice, I loved the family history and how they came together for the same purpose. I loved their family bond and the fact that both sides of her family supported her the same. It's so incorrect to feel loved properly snd connected to family you come from and the family youre given. I found it interesting that all the years the family guarded the heart pieces no one knew the main desire was for it to be reunited. It really sucked to see so much of their family timeline was lost to the protection of something that l could have been let go of many moons before. I did enjoy how the author name dropped other mythical legends we have heard of into this book and the family's history of the heart pieces lile the Flamels and Merlin.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and would recommend the series to others and even read it again.

This was such a good book. I love the journey to learn her family shes on withou having to let go of her mothers who raised her. I didnt know who to trust pretty often so I had healthy scepticism for everyone except homegirl and her moms. I loved the characters throughout the book and wasn't expecting the lineage connection or information she learned. I love when learning more details turns into more questions, it makes the read more fun in my opinion.
Sad and exciting ending if you can imagine both, but I do love a little up the stakes situation. I also love an ending that has me feeling like I NEED to know whats next and the last page has me ready and excited to dive into the next one so im definitely picking up This Wicked Fate asap go close this duology out!

Definitely a cute and cozy romance. After reading The Partner Plot and The Neighbor Favor I was really looking forward to seeing how Angel was going to get Iris and this book didn't disappoint. It was a feel good love story of and unlikely pair that fit perfect. I loved the personal growth in both of them. They each needed someone to help push them that extra little mile in their personal lives and they were able to be that for one another. Definitely recommend this one and all 3 of the Greene Sister books really!

Im not sure why this book took me so long to get through but I did enjoy it by the end. Im not sure I overly enjoy intense violence in general and Kidan was like her own evil being who didn't want to be acknowledged as such doing wild ass hateful shit. She was really battling herself and I came to understand her better as we gained more insight. I enjoyed the layers of history and information that kept piling on top of each other to make things more clear. Im intrigued by the ending and really interested to see how things go in the next book. I wasn't expecting it to end the way it did but im glad Kidan is in a new place mentally although I'm certain her sister is going to wreck her mentally and Yos is going to go through it too. Can't wait to see what's revealed about these "sibling pairings" of vampire and human in the house.

A solid novella with good sex is always a good idea for me. This one didn't disappoint. I do wish I knew what recipie she was using to summon him though. I might need it for a friend or soemthing.

I enjoyed this novella. Made me want my own Malachi. I love the idea that my shifter mate is out in the world waiting to claim me. I would happily take a big black cat as mine 🤣 If only it really happened this way!

It was lighthearted and what I needed in a little novella to let me revisit some of my favorites from the Mead Mishaps Series.

This was good story. I wasn't sure what they were going to have going on since it seemed they were happily in love so soon in the book. But it was great narrative on navigating familial expectations and setting boundaries. It's hard to have family out you in this box and exploit your insecurities and i thought this was a wonderful journey of having a partner be there with you but not do it for you.
I enjoyed the book nothing too wild going on. I did think I was going to get more drama but just a Black man spending his time growing, changing and loving on a single Black Woman. I stan!

Yall this book pissed me off! I had to put it down lol I was like I know this girl isn't gonna keep letting him keep on with the BS. I was literally yelling at the screen like 🗣 Sis stand upppppp for yourself get up!
Anyways about 65% of the way through I was like imma give this a few days. Cuz she's gonna piss me off. Many of us have found ourselves in some dumb shit myself included. But girl! Come on now.
Anyways after my lile 2 day hiatus. I finished and yall it got better. Sis cheated back, I mean she still went back to Mr. Raggedy n shit but I was so much happier she went and found her healing. Her mom was the literal devil in disguise. I was so disgusted with her the entire time smdh.
And I was not expecting the plot to twist the way it did but I was cool with it like okay Karma kicked in. They got back together but he felt that KARMA and that mattered to me. Cuz love is redeemable after fuckery but get your get back.
Also Im typically okay with surprise pregnancies but this one....idk yall. I gave it a three cuz it wasn't terrible and I did want to finish it in the end. But it didn't not make me excited about the rest of this St. Louis Cyclones series....but imma read it tho cuz its Alexandria House!

All About Love: New Visions by bell hooks

This book was insightful, its the second ive read from Bell Hooks and definitely a book to revisit.
I felt like some chapters offered additional understanding to things I already knew and some gave insight to areas that I didn't even consider or think about. It had oh wow moments and I wish I knew this sooner moments for me. Each chapter focused on a different piece of the "love pie" and I liked delving into different aspects of love because love really impacts all areas of our lives differently.
Overall I did like this book and do plan to go back and do a re-read to capture some highlights I missed the first time around by listening and not being near my book
