First of all it was very slow in the beginning, but I kept going because I had nothing else to read. Therefor I was reminded it is neither the pace or the page count which matters, it’s the content (cliché).
The book was filled with rich characters and beautiful stories. Based on a real history!!! So cool, this book might have made me want to become a historian. And I really want to visit the Chief Vann house if I ever go to Turtle Island.
Not my genre but will definitely read more of similar type. And I love that this was fiction based on real stories, makes the history so much more emotionally deep and relatable.
It’s kind of embarrassing to write these reviews on here, but it’s the easiest place for me to store my thoughts so bear with me :D Btw read this 100% if you love dark mysteries and historical books! Overall not the best writing but personally this story stuck.
I thought I was done with Cassandra Clare after reading the finale of TMI - but, the sneak peak of the dark artificies sounds so interesting. Might continue. I must admit, the first 100 pages annoyed me af. Reminded me too much of this world and humans and our wars. The rest of the book got me hooked so I hadn’t time to be annoyed.
Buoremus ođđaáigásaš nuoraidgirji sámegillii maid lean lohkkan. Ii gávdno nu ollu molsoevttot gollegiela literatuvrras, muhto das lei hirpmastahtti allá dássi. Lei buorre ja áiggun lohkat su ieža girjjiid nai.
I loved the protagonist. I also appreciate the knowledge this book shared about Anisnaabe culture and living. It’s so fricking cool that this book exists, that there is coming more and more indigenous literature. I am thankful and amazed by how good it was!
