Absolutely adored this one. Best romcom I’ve read in a long time and I need a leading man like Henry in my life.

Kelly's story is full of heartache and so many heartfelt moments. I love her gumption, going for roles and sometimes the circumstances lined up perfectly for her. She's had a beautifully long life, starring as some of the most interesting and complex characters and I hope she manages to act as some more in the coming years. She has an incredible legacy!

I think this book was meant to find me at this time. I've had it on my TBR for the past few years but it took until now for me to actually start reading it.
It was a fascinating narrative account of a woman working jobs that some may consider as "easy", but the more jobs she tries, she comes to the conclusion that in the end, there is truly not such thing as an easy job.

I don't know if it's because it was a slow month for me but this book really dragged. I couldn't get into it for the longest time and I didn't enjoy the main character's narration too much. It felt like she kept getting piled on from everyone around her and blaming herself for her father's death despite not actually being to blame. There were some predictable parts and twists, but all in all it was a good cosy, spooky autumnal romance.

I really enjoyed this read but I did find the main character overwhelmingly pathetic at the start, she had no backbone. I thought the plot twist was surprising, but everything was tied off a bit too conveniently.

I'm starting to think that Laurie Gilmore is the queen of miscommunication plots. I did not enjoy this much pining without communication about it. I preferred this to Pumpkin Spice Cafe but not by much. A very pent-up bookish girl and a bad-boy type have a fling with grand gestures and a mysterious book annotation plot. I liked it, but I'm not sure I'd read it again. Definitely gave me small-town fall vibes.
