You all already know how much I love Latrexa Nova lmao, BUT THIS WAS SO GOOD.
These are the characters from Give in to the Ghost except now it’s Thanksgiving time and they are visiting Karl’s family. She learns a little about their past and how they were connected to the original pilgrim settlers… and this 400 year old screw (I’m mentioning this for a reason, go read the novella to see why.)

hmm yeah I think it's a solid 3? I didn't hate it but I also didn't care for it lol.

I felt kinda bored most of the time, and the MMC didn't end up growing on me. I did like the FMC and the other guy that joined her heat even tho he didn't have much page time. and the two characters at the very end sounded interesting but they literally had like two chapters? idk what the point of that extended epilogue was bc it felt like the characters in it were added as an afterthought.

tbf, it is supposed to be a novella, and I know getting into every single character would have made it much longer, but I would rather have it end before the "epilogue" or just not introduce two more characters at the absolute last second?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
i really enjoyed this!

if you like Emelle in Raven Kennedy's Signs of Cupidity series or Delta from the Hellgate Guardians books, you'll love Nikki! she's obsessed with Disney and there a bunch of fun references, she's also got the coolest shifter animal (which, when it was revealed I was not expecting tbh).
I also really liked the guys! I did feel like some of the chemistry/relationship between Nikki and a couple of the guys felt a little forced/unnatural, but overall I liked the group dynamic.

the story was really interesting too. there are a group of people that volunteer to compete in these trials that, if completed, can put them on the ballet to be elected and become the new leader of this territory. I heard supernatural trials (and reverse harem) and I was like, say less. I LOVE reading about competitions and this one did not disappoint.

overall: I liked this. the reveals at the end had my jaw dropping and I definitely didn't predict some of the twists. I liked the writing, the characters and the pacing felt good. I also thought the magic system was kinda cool, if not just a little confusing. but overall, like I said, I enjoyed it :)

I knew this was gonna be good bc I absolutely love Cia's writing - but I think this might be my favorite book of hers yet (and one of them was a beauty and the beast retelling!!)

and sorry rastus, but I think Calder has bumped you down a notch on the favorites list. I freaking LOVED him! he was so sweet and cute and funny and I am in love. AND GUESS WHAT ELSE. this fish boy has not one BUT TWO PEENS. and a peen pocket.

like with the rest of Cia's books, I was hooked from the first paragraph and invested in the story and. the characters all the way to the last page. I know I haven't talked about Allie, but I didn't forget about her, and I loved her too. These characters were both written very well, and I loved their chemistry and relationship.

I dont want to say much about the story, but overall this was a solid ten out of ten for me, everything was absolutely amazing and I LOVED it. this is a slow burn novella that you won't want to put down. I am so very grateful that Cia let me beta read for her again, and I hope you all add this to your tbr asap and enjoy it as much as I did :)

ALL THE PUNS ARE SO GREAT. LATREXA NOVA I AM OBSESSED.
Okay but if this isn’t my favorite, it’s definitely in my top three. It has all the vampire and bat jokes and puns, I was laughing so hard all the way through, I was close to tears by the end of it. GO READ IT. SO GOOD OMG

I am not surprised at all that I loved this, I've only read one other book by this author but I LOVE her writing and the worlds she creates.

These characters were incredible and I loved Isoldra and Haal especially. (altho he's a dark god w shadows, so once again, are you surprised) but aside from that, I thought all of them were written really well, they felt unique and I loved how strong each character was.

overall, like I said, I loved the whole story. I was hooked almost from start to finish, the chemistry and banter was great, characters were amazing, and there were sooo many great lines. definitely recommend if you're in the mood for deal w devil(or dark god), slow burn, hot men with wings, and an incredible story :)
