I didn't finish this the first time I tried to read it, but listening to the audiobook (read by the author) made me enjoy the book a lot more. It was great to be able to hear all the Yorkshire accents, and while this was not as funny as the early Georgia Nicholson books, it still had a few chuckle-worthy moments.
Good for younger/more immature teen girls, especially those with an interest in theatre, and Wuthering Heights.

Rennison does it again. Just like her "Georgia Nicolson Diaries," Rennison leaves readers laughing away on a fast camel with the story of Georgia's younger cousin Tallulah and her summer at performance art school. A must-read for YA lovers, especially of the theatrical persuasion.

I've always been able to relate to Louise Rennison's characters very well from my childhood, which is probably why I have loved her books at any age. Sometimes I forget what it was like to be fourteen, but this book captures it so perfectly, and it captures it with humor. I think I love her writing so much because it reminds me of what I used to write in my diaries as a kid.
Every once in a while, Louise Rennison's books are a great way to take my mind off of a stressful work day. Days when I'm sick of being a grown-up. Days when being fourteen again is the perfect solution.
If you are fourteen and you're looking for a laugh, this book is fantastic. But if you are an adult and looking for the innocent and hilarious mindset of a fourteen-year-old, read this. Take a break and be a kid again.
"I left the house a bit earlier than I needed to, so that I could get to the pub and maybe accidentally-on-purpose bump into Alex. But Vaisey was already sitting on the wall waiting for me. Just as well, really, I would have probably said something insane and fallen over a leaf if I'd seen him."

i'm not quite as in love with this as with the georgia series, but this was fun and funny, with a bonkers cast of characters and loads of fun british slang. a hoot!

I was so excited when I found out [a:Louise Rennison|65189|Louise Rennison|http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1217261779p2/65189.jpg] was coming out with a new series. To this day I LOVE the Georgia Nicholson stories and re-read them all the time. I was expecting this new book to be very repetitive of the Georgia series (like how the later books in the series recycled a lot of jokes), but was pleasantly suprised that it wasn't. The characters are different and situations are, too. I found myself laughing out loud numerous time throughout this first installation.
If you are a fan of the Georgia books, definitely check this out - not too similar, but has that great humor we've come to love them for.

Great fun and not so slang-intensive as the Georgia series. I see the second book is available now!

I kind of just sat there and giggled the entire time I read it. (Two thumbs up for 99 cent ebooks.)

I was disappointed in this book. I really enjoyed the Georgia Nicolson series and I thought this one would be similar. I found it really difficult to push through because of the lack of plot, silly problems and very mildly funny jokes. My plan was to read this whole series, but this one took so much time and effort to get through I don't even want to try to give the next two a chance. I gave it two starts because there was an occasional part of the story that was worth reading, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Enjoyable. I like that Tallulah's thing is humor: it makes for an interesting protagonist.

Since I adored the Georgia Nicholson 10 book series, I had great hopes for Rennison's new teen series. It is always difficult to live up to expectations. I listened to Withering Tights and has some laugh out loud moments, but was disappointed I could not love Talluah like Georgia!!!
