2nd in series. Still a great read for boys who like fantasy books. My son really liked it too--he's 10

I love Ranger's Apprentice. It has everything that I love - cliché-yet-pulled-off-amazingly-well medieval settings, interesting characters, humor, action, a touch (and I mean a touch) of cute 'romance'... It's one of those series that I read to comfort myself after digesting all those stupid teen paranormal romances.
Number Two, The Burning Bridge, is an amazing followup to The Ruins of Gorlan. There were times when the slightly more technical aspects of warfare threw me (I've never been good at that stuff), but it's not really necessary to grasp it all to enjoy it. And enjoy it I did.
And the ending. Holy molehill, the ending. Breaks my heart still - and this is the third time I've read the book. It's worth it just for that ending.

You'd think that by now they would have more faith in Horace.
