The world of the fae was creative and certain parts were great. However, the main female character seems to be the usual… ‘I love the first guy who’s kind, then betrayal, then fall for the next and remains sarcastic to cover her emotional wounds’.
Not bad, but a bit generic.

this is so TRASHY and it's exactly what I needed. A bit cringey and stupid, and again... Perfect for what I needed HEHE
3.5*
I really love the book and the world building however the writing style isn't my favourite and the FMC doesn't seem too believable as much as I'd like.
However still very enjoyable to read!

3.5 STARS ✨
I read/listened to the audiobook, which is free on Spotify. The audiobook edition, unfortunately, is not on here, so I'm placing my review on this edition.
So I did enjoy this one. One thing that I always find really interesting after listening to an audiobook is coming on to review and seeing that the names are completely different to what I was hearing for seven hours straight. Alannais actually Alona, Bree is actually Brea and I dread to think about the names of the Fae Kingdoms. And that's just on me being awful at listening to things, apparently, but nevertheless, it was a good read. The plot was incredibly predictable, so there personally wasn't any kind of 'shock' twists for me, but I think that just comes from reading so many YA/NA fantasy novels.
One thing I particularly enjoyed was that the prologue and the epilogue were a different perspective to the our main protagonist, and that it takes a while for their perspectives to intertwine. I will be getting straight into the second book as I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes from here(although I have already read the blurb for the third book, whoops.) Instead of going for the audiobook again, I'll be going to the kindle version as it'll probably take me a solid four hours less to get through, and the ebook format is cheaper than the audiobook — whew, we're going through quite a few strikethroughs on this review.
Anyway, I need more Brea/Lochlan and Alona/Finn content, so I'm going to go and get it now.
. . . And probably look twice at all of the names.

If you ignore the fact that this is suppose to be Fae and just imagine the people as a alternate universe with magic it's so much better because.... It's not giving me Fae vibes AT ALL.
BUT I have a problem with knowing if I'm right or not and had to read the whole thing lol
No spice
Little to no romance
