so this book. started out strong, read it through in a few hours. i liked hayes’s inner monologue, but i couldn’t care less about aeris. The dialogues were too long, they were a little overly understanding (to each other and to their parents too). it was really sudden that both of their father’s appeared. and the spicy scenes were not the best either. but the hockey vibes remain unmatched for me.

ps: i wanted to like it bc of the not-skinny female heroine and i wanted to feel seen in the spicy scenes but it was disappointing too.

im not even sure i have the willpower to read the second book.

This was just weird. I really struggled with the one-sided fake dating and the way things bounced all over the place with resolutions to conflicts that hadn't been fully fleshed out. I wanted to like this but it was ultimately meh.

i wish i liked this … but wdym Hayes couldn’t just tell his teammates “no i like this girl lemme date her fr” and then act like it’s a shock when she finds out ??? hello ?

also hockey romances are never realistic but i swear this wasn’t. also the representation of anorexia and EDs was soooo unreal like ? and this comes from someone recovering from anorexia lol
