ugh this book was INCREDIBLE. i thought it was so cute how protective he was of her. and going on a PODCAST to profess how he feels??? YES. just YES. Hayes Hollings has my heart.

AND AERIS… girl i love you. she was so insecure and Hayes showed her how to love herself for who she is.

I love the bond they shared over the loss of a loved one. Hayes with his mom and Aeris with her brother. It was adorable.

However, i will say that i didn’t like that Hayes lied to her for so long, i wish he would’ve just told her to begin with, but besides that, i absolutely adored this book.

Icebreaker is and always will be my fav hockey romance, but this is up there ❤️

- Dual POV
- found family
- “fake dating” but like not really

After choking my way through this, I have thoughts.

FIRSTLY no. To all of it. The person who recommended this on TikTok - jail. The editor - jail. People who read it and gave it five stars - jail.

This was choppy, embarrassing to read and the characters made me hate them. They were one dimensional, weirdos and they gave me the ick. I only finished this book to have my bookmark back.

Hayes is a weirdo. The way this whole book transpired made me want to die. Fake dating for the sake of this homeboys bad boy image but than he bumps into the girl of his dreams whose also getting drunk at this bar? With her also dead family member?
But than they fall in lust; some weird shit transpires, the amount of analogies this author uses makes me want to off myself, this dumbass breaks some guys jaw and gets a 5 game suspension, she finds out he’s a liar, was mean to her mute brother and than they fall in love again.
And at the end, he proposes with a ring she chokes on and swallows out of a champagne glass.

I have had enough. Enough is enough.

i actually liked this book. like ik a lot of people are hating on it but it was nice to have a girl struggle w her body image and idk it made me feel seen a bit. the ending made me laugh…like her choking on the ring was so random and i was concerned and then she just said yes to him so i was like ig she’s ok? was it the most thought provoking book i’ve read? no but it was still a fun read!
