This is the second Fey series I’ve read, the other one being ‘The Cruel Prince’ by Holly Black. What I know of Fey I know from that series, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

The Iron King was fast paced and action packed, your typical teenage coming of age story. MC Meghan is your average teenager, whose POV was engaging. I’m super glad that Puck’s infatuation with her
Spoiler went nowhere, because, honestly? It was a bit creepy. Given that he’s immortal, much older, and has known her (one assumes?) all her life, his infatuation with her felt a bit off. There wasn’t much interaction between Meghan and Ash either, but despite this, Ash was somehow suddenly in love with Meghan. Oh well!

The Nevernever was well described, and my favourite character had to be Grim, with his perfect answer for everything: “I am a cat”. While reading I felt like I was watching a mashup of the movies The Lord of the Rings and The Labyrinth - The Labyrinth in particular shared its plot, and some of the creatures (the Rat Pack) with this book. If the rest of this series was on KU I would read it, but it’s not, so book 1 is the last book for me. This was an enjoyable and quick read that is worth a look!

Excellent concept with interesting twists. Action never really stops. Amazing worldbuilding. Great for those who enjoy watching fairies and technology mix.

Three stars because, in this book, the heroine annoyed me to no end. She gets better in the later books, though.
