This book was fun but certainly not good.
It was super tropey and cheesy with a cardboard cut out love triangle and one dimensional villains.
BUT I read this series when I was about 12 and I ate it UP. So this reading experience was heavily tinted with my nostalgia goggles.
The love triangle: childhood best friend vs hot bad boy she met 10 second ago, is as predictable as can be.
The main leads go from hating eachother to be reluctant companions to lovers without any development. Here they are smooching on there quest talking about how forbidden there love is as opposing fairy court and I'm like, why do I care again?
The female lead had a monologue about how she had finally found out who she is.
Soooo bad, but I've read it from beginning to finish in 2 days.

I finished reading this the other day. In some ways this book was wonderful. It was a creative interpretation of the Seelie and Unseelie Fae (something I have always loved, thanks Labyrinth!), with a twist that I thought was quite unique.
The only thing that irked me in the story was the instant love between Meghan and Ash. She had that "I glanced at him and fell in love" (not quite in those words, but you get the picture). Other than this, great story, and an easy read!
I'll do a full review when I'm not on vacation visiting family in another state!

Maybe like a... 2.5.
Meghan was just such an idiot. There were exactly two moments where she did something mildly clever, and two moments are not enough to redeem the entire book. She made me crazy, she and her completely predictable, cliché, underdeveloped, and uninteresting romance. I guess I can at least say for her that she had a personality, and some aspects of the world were not uninteresting, but I just... I came so close to quitting this book 50 pages in. I stuck it out, but I wondered why most of the time.
