I love the ideas behind this book but dislike the execution. Felt like a lot of telling rather than showing.

I wanted to like this book so bad. The concept was so intriguing. I just hated the characters. Everyone was angry in an instant for no reason and immediately after they said something angrily they were totally fine. They didn't make sense. By the end of the boom Laney keeps saying she has to find Jason to warn him and that she will scan a room and than forget she has to. Than she's mad at her protector for not protecting him when she literally looked for two seconds for Jason and gave up.

**I received a digital ARC for free from the author and The Parliament House in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.**
Okay. Y’all. This was so good. The premise alone was super intriguing to me. It is unlike anything I’ve read before, and I loved it.
The characters were so good. Laney was a great MC. William.. man I just love William!
The writing was great. The story flowed so well. It kept me wanting to read. If I didn’t have to adult and work, I easily could have read this one in a sitting. I was pulled in immediately.
There were twists and turns that I genuinely did not see coming. Trust literally no one, hahah. I was very surprised by the twist in this. That endingggg. I cannot wait to continue on with this series.
Also, I just want to point out how absolutely beautiful this cover is!! Just gorgeous.
Y’all seriously have to read this book. This book needs to be talked about.
Thanks again so much to the author, Heather Kindt, and to The Parliament House for providing me with an ARC of this book to review.

So what was this book?
The idea of writing your own characters into life was glorious!
How the author did it was just confusing and not at all catching.
I disliked every single character and the whole plot was a literal mess. The Character Laney was super naive and sometimes really dumb. I also kind of don't understand why someone wouldn't freak out when she finds out her characters came to life? I would be super crazy and secretive about it - well Delaney was not and it confused me a lot. Jason was also a super 2-dimensional character that held no sympathy for me. And William was just creepy.
I hate to rant about a book like this. but it wasn't my kind of cup at all.
The idea holds the potential for a whole series, but what we got was, well, nothing elaborate or exciting. I felt bored while reading and everything was really predictable.
I wish the book had been better edited and the characters were more authentic - it could have been a great story.

A 3.5 star read.
The synopsis for The Weaver piqued my interest very quickly. I'm a sucker for books that blend the literary world with the real one and this one is a pretty solid execution of that trope in an original way.
A book of blends, ,The Weaver is fantasy meets romance with a little bit of historical fiction. For me, it read somewhere between YA and New Adult. It has a bit more maturity than a typical YA read, but doesn't read overly complex or too risque. The narrative was smooth moving and stayed intriguing from beginning to end. There was a bit more of a rush to movements in the last third of the book and I could have used more meat to that section of the narrative. Overall, the story wasn't overly complicated, but still maintained some surprises and wasn't too thin. The development of the fantastical element could have been bolstered, so I am happy to know that there will be two additional books to help me experience and understand this fantasy world to a greater degree.
Laney is an interesting main character, her maturity level reading true to her stated age...not always something authors can adhere to. Kudos to Kindt for that. It is perhaps this maturity level, at the ends of being a teenager and just kissing the edges of being adult, that gives the book the appropriate YA/New Adult blended feeling. All of the characters could have used some additional depth, but I still felt that I got to know Laney fairly well. I didn't feel quite as satisfied with the character development for some of the side characters, most notably Jason.
I am not typically a romance reader, so there was maybe a bit more of that element than I am really interested in, but it didn't saturate the book. A fantasy reader can still enjoy this with ease, especially those who like their fantasies with a little bit of a love element.
This was a good and smooth read with a likable plot and characters as well as a unique twist on a plot device I love. I enjoyed The Weaver by Heather Kindt and look forward to the remaining books in the trilogy.

I believe this book has a lot of protentional, everyone having a different role was interesting but towards the end I felt like actions didn't have consequences, people kind of died and it was very whatever to everyone. meh I probably wont read the rest of the series.

The premise behind this story- a writers characters coming to life- is something that I absolutely love. It was a little reminiscent of Cornelia Funke’s Inkheart series in that sort of words can come to life, whimsical way but it fell a little flat for me.
Laney’s writing reads really immature to me, which is pretty appropriate for her age, but I just expected more with her gift of being a weaver.
I feel like she comes to the conclusion that Jonas is alive and walking around instantly and doesn’t even question it-just goes along with it and it felt rushed and forced to introduce that so quickly and with so little explanation or confusion. That wouldn’t have been the first thing to cross my mind had a stranger pushed me down a flight of stairs!
I don’t love Jason’s character. He isn’t a good friend and just expects her to let him pick back up as such when he’s had little to do with her in HS. I spent more time wanting to wring his selfish little neck than cheer him on.
Overall it was good. I think with a little more tweaking and maybe some changes here and there it could have been better than good.

This book was provided as an e-arc by NetGalley.
The premise of this book was amazing . I love a book about characters coming to life in the literal meaning of the word but unfortunately the execution felt lacking.I had massive problems with the writing style and the editing in the first half of the book. Also, the actual story started late in my opinion. We spent more than 1/4 the book doing nothing.
I liked Laney as a character but just that. We didn't get to know the other characters although I was liking William and Jason . They needed more time in the story. Also, in my opinion Jason's POV wasn't needed at all. It was just there. The author should have made it longer and flushed his character or just left us with 1 Pov.
The world itself was the best. I loved it and needed more.As I said ,It needed to start earlier but still I like the whole idea of the book and where the fantasy part is going especially with a whole group of weavers.
So overall , We had excellent idea , Very good dialogue , good characters that needed a little more and bad pacing in the beginning (also some little boring parts) So we are 2.5 stars.
