Loved this! And the twist was AHHHHHH!!!!!

It was a little slow but I really loved this book. It was adorable and refreshing although I kind of guessed the huge plot twist by page 60 which could have been what Ms. Sorensen wanted; who knows. Anyway, I really loved it and although I didn't expect a series for Luke I am much looking forward to his sequel because his story is most definitely NOT over!

The Destiny of Violet & Luke is not a bad book. It has good characters and a decent plot, but I just don’t think it’s my type of book. I like books with a lot of dialogue and a nice pace. To me The Destiny of Violet & Luke really didn’t deliver.

My biggest problem with this book was the fact that I knew what was going to happen within the first few chapters but then had to get through the very lengthy inner monologues to get there. This book spans 1-2 weeks and really moves at a slow pace. Both characters dissect every single thing they do, and it’s a constant “Should I, shouldn’t I” scenario. I became pretty bored with the book halfway through because it felt like nothing was really happening.

Something else that bothered me was the ending. I mean sure, the ending is fine if you haven’t read Breaking Nova also by Jessica Sorensen. The endings are pretty much the same, but I’m not going to spell it out because I don’t want to ruin anything from anyone. It just annoys me that I knew exactly what was going to happen because I’ve already read that ending twice.

So did I love The Destiny of Violet & Luke? Nope. Was it awful? Nah. Will I read the next book in series? Freakin of course. Why? Because the characters are actually really good and I want to know what happens to them. Darn you Jessica Sorensen.

THE CLIFFHANGER IS SO PAINFUL JUST WAIT UNTIL YOU HAVE THE NEXT BOOK

Editor please apply

There is no need for this book to be longer than one. It needs a good editor and publisher. This book could have been so much more. If I paid for it instead of borrowing from the library I would feel cheated.

A year ago when I added this to my TBR I was devouring everything that Jessica Sorensen put out. I loved the whole New Adult genre and these darker stories of people who had been through horrible childhoods and/or teenage years struggling to find their HEA. I'm not sure why I never picked this up and started it at the time but now I'm wondering if it was because I just couldn't cope with the sadness anymore.

I think that the writing is great and the characters are likeable, though I can't say I relate to them in any way. It's just so hard to watch as these characters seem to be headed in a good direction, where their lives might finally be more full of love and light and less darkness and pain, only to see it all torn away from them over and over again. It's just not where my reading state-of-mind is right now. This might be something I have to revisit at a later time.

I think if you enjoy a dark read and New Adult romance, you'll like this book. It's just not my cuppa right now.

Bugger...it ended. I thought there were more pages left - I knew what was coming, it was a little obvious, but after the first Callie and Kayden book had a cliffhanger, this one was bound to have one too. Guess it's time to wait for the next one.

Good stuff. Dark. Deep. Ending is a cliffhanger...and I hate those. Love these characters.

This was a great read. The writing is amazing. The way Jessica Sorensen writes her broken, damaged characters is very intriguing. This is the start of Violet & Luke's story. Though it was not as good as Callie & Kayden's story, I still really enjoyed this one. There were some moments where I thought the story got a bit repetitive. However, it did not take away my enjoyment from this book.

Luke is Kayden's best friend. He has issues with his mother, and his sister, Abby, committed suicide at the age of sixteen. To say the least, he has had a pretty disturbing childhood. Hence, he does not let people into his life because he thinks they will let him down in the long haul. Violet is Callie's college roommate. However, we never got to know her before this book. In this book, we find out she grew up in the foster care system after her parents were murdered. Her last foster dad is a real creep. She has no other family besides him. Luke & Violet start bumping into each other after the night that she kicked him in the face.

They seem to have great chemistry. Also, the plot twist near the end of the story was heartbreaking, yet predictable. It was sad to see the way their relationship ended after the discovery because it looked like they were making progress to become something more than friends/roommates. I wonder what will happen after that cliffhanger ending. I can't wait to see what The Probability of Violet & Luke will have in store. Luke & Violet are just two tormented people with horrible pasts. The relationship showed the intense and depressing moments in their lives. I hope that they get their HEA. Overall, a heartbreaking read to start off Violet & Luke's story.
