It took me a bit longer than I would have preferred to get properly immersed in the flow of the story, but I kept with it because I have faith in Terry Pratchett's writing. Once the story does really get going, I found it quite good.

I found it a bit harder to get through then the previous book but it was still an exciting read in parts. I do want to see where the story goes in the next books.

I am really enjoying the stories of the Long Earth and it's fun to imaging infinite Earths in parallel to our own. However, I get hung up on the unlikeliness that the earth's absolute position would remain unchanged between all these worlds. Why doesn't Joshua ever step into a universe where Earth is like a mile off from its original orbit?

Enjoyed the book, however, it's not as good as The Long Earth. The whole thing makes for an interesting story.

The first book in this series introduced some interesting ideas, and this sequel has a few more... but it's too obviously a part of a series. Many new characters are introduced and given absolutely nothing to do. The pacing is odd, and the authors seem to introduce some plot elements and then dissolve then in illogical ways that don't even do justice to the idea of Deus ex Machina.
I'm not sure I'll bother to pick up the next book when it comes out... maybe after the series is concluded in a few years. But maybe not. I didn't enjoy The Long War nearly as much as I did The Long Earth.

Wasn't feeling it at the time - I would like to revisit it though.

Didn't like this one as much as the first one. There were points where I was just reading it to finish it. I still like the concept and the characters, but I felt like this was a lot of set-up and little climax. I feel like the theme is still "people suck" but maybe there is still a little hope for humanity.
