New world, New characters, Same great storytelling!
Love the way Chelle tells a story, and this one is one of my favorite tropes. Single dads are my favorite, especially when the kids are written well, and Chelle did an awesome job with this.
Wes walked into his Nashville home to suitcases and divorce papers, neither of which he was expecting. Deciding he needed a change for himself and his three kids he moves back to the small town he calls home. Once he gets there he realizes he’s going to need more help, enter Betsy, his parent’s young, curvy beautiful new tenant.
Read this book, watch them fall. This book is filled with all the things we love but written with Chelle’s special flair which makes it even better! There are four books in this series, and even though reading in order isn’t exactly necessary, the experience will be so much better if you do! Don’t miss out on these!

Single dad with three kids meets single lady just trying to find her own niche. That is how I want to describe this.
Wes (single dad) is a football star about to retire whose wife decides she wants to be single with no responsibilities (SNOB!!!). Wes's parents rent out their rental to a young lady who comes to their hometown to be close to her bestie (Betsy) whom wants to and is making her way through life on her terms.
Wes and the kids come home to enjoy time with his parents and meet Betsy.
Wes ends up moving the kids and himself to his hometown as he prepares to retire from football.
There's a connection, Wes realizes he needs help and hires Betsy as the kid's nanny/housekeeper for the times he is away in his last season of his professional football career.
Meanwhile, a little drama from Betsy's parents about her way of life butts in and the Alpha side of Wes as well tries to interrupt.
Meanwhile, the kids are adorable! Wes's friends and parents welcoming and rooting for them.
That's all I'm saying. This was a five star read for me because of the intermix of drama from both sides. Not to much but enough to have each of them questioning what they believe is best for them apart or together.

this singe dad/ nanny trope book was a bit different. But a good different. It started with him still being married to his wife. But she wants a divorce because she couldn’t do this anymore and she wanted more from him. She didn’t care what her leaving would do to their three kids. Betsy moves in a house Wes’s parents own. After the divorce Wen and his three kids move into the same town and into the house next to Betsy. At first they were neighbours and the kids went to her to play but eventually it became more.
Also I liked how the book wasn’t as “predictable” as others. They fell in love she moved in and then they had their first big fight.
I loved the kids. The oldest was very mature for her age and had to carry everyone’s baggage then the youngest was I think the funniest one.

"Swoony" that's how this story was . "The One I want" by Chelle Sloan is so cute and fluffy story 🥹. With the trope : nanny -single father and second chance, it was so damn awesome 💕. And the friendship between Wes and friends group and of Betsy and Whitley , it's the friendship you crave for ❣️.
I loved how sweet their family turned into. Cara was a b*tch but at least because of her we got this beautifull fam in the end right 🥹💕.
And Mann the kids, they are so sweet and lovely. Emerson , she is totally my girl , that's me. Also hank and Mag .At first I thought they were twins coz of how cute they are. 🤭
If you all are looking for a cute funny story , this is totally it.
