This book was impressive. While the Once Upon A Time book sucked and was essentially the script, no more no less, Frozen Heat was great. (part of that has to do with the premise of the show and the book, but I really enjoyed it -- There was development!) Really entertaining and engaging, added to the show characters but did so in a way that felt familiar and right for them. Very well done.

Just as good, if not better than the rest.

Lots of cliffhangers, lots of sleepless nights for me as I couldn't put it down, and lots of questions left unanswered. There better be another book to come! Can't wait to find out what happens next.

These books are enjoyable and fun. Light, like potato chips. I've enjoyed them all but I fear this will be my last one. Much like the TV show, the books need to get beyond the mystery of who/what/why killed Kate's/Nikki's mom. Seriously, figure it out and *move on*. Being stuck in this story rut is boring and after four books, it really s/b over.

I have read the first three in this series and whilst they were good, I would say that this was more compelling and harder to put down. I had to force myself to put it down several times and sleep.

Should be read in order. characters appear and would be rather confusing if you haven't read the first 3. watching the show however is not necessary and picking out the references and differences is a bonus.

One of the best books — if not the best book — in this particular series.
I enjoyed Nikki Heat as a character once again. Especially since this book’s murder case was linked to her mother’s murder and we get to learn a lot more about her back story and her as a person. She is likable but also real and has depth. The events of her past have clearly shaped her and trigger in her a resolve to get justice. And she has the perfect partner in Rook to get to the bottom of things. He is not only a savvy investigative reporter, but also someone who is there for her in the darkest of times.
I love that New York City is pretty much a character in this story too. The abandoned subway station was an especially cool element.
But my favorite scene takes place in Paris: Heat and Rook on Pont Neuf. With the dark waters of the Seine as a great metaphor for the turmoil that was swirling inside Heat.

I'm not going to write a review on this, or the subsequent 6, until I have finished the entire series. Then I will review them all at once.

"Richard Castle's" novel is cute and has just enough action to keep you reading. It's not a literary masterpiece but as a Castle tie-in it's well done.

Deze reeks toont een mooie ontwikkeling; er blijven parallellen met de televisiereeks maar de boeken gaan een paar stappen verder. Ik blijf het de moeite waard vinden.

Not happy with the cliff hanger ending, though I was happy that Nikki got answers about her mother's death. This is a TV Show tie-in that works.
