Still a good book with plenty of action, but to me it falls short of the previous two for the lack of witty dialogue that this series is famous for.Looking forward to see how part four will wrap things up.

Kai's family is attempting to keep him on a leash, Vail's mind is descending into chaos contamination, Irene stumbles into romance, and the Library is threatened by a traitor. I love everything about this series.

Even more action packed than the previous installments. The author is fantastic at work building while keeping the plot moving. Looking forward to the next one.

Entertaining. Fluffy, but entertaining. I enjoy the characters, and it's good escapist fiction. I was a little annoyed with parts of the beginning of the book, but in the end I enjoyed it enough to keep reading the series.

Still just very meh. I thought Vail being forced even more into the role of Sherlock Holmes was interesting, but nothing much came of it. I actually liked Ziana and thought she was a fun character.
Was surprised by a bit of language that cropped up courtesy of a werewolf (or should I say SWEARwolf.)
Still desperately, slowly going to make my way through this series hoping it finally gets better.
Spoiler
I thought it seemed a little too obvious when they thought she was behind the assassination attempts, and thought there would be a twist that it wasn't her, but no. I'm disappointed that she died. It would have been interesting to see more of her.Was surprised by a bit of language that cropped up courtesy of a werewolf (or should I say SWEARwolf.)

this series is starting to feel a bit thin and stretched.

Some super cool details here, like the universe they went into and met Catherine the Great. But the quality of the writing has absolutely gone down with each book in the series. The first one was more precise and technically correct than than that ones that have come after, this one being the most careless in that sense. It could be genius level plotting--as Irene has friends to tether her in more human concerns, her language relaxes from the exactness of the Library--but that's a stretch. This isn't the most generous critique, but the author made a universe with strict and precise grammar.
It also ends extremely abruptly. The climactic confrontation is very very cool and was done well, but then there is very little time between the confrontation and the final sentence. I would have been very interested in some more time at the end there with these characters.
