Honestly this book infuriated me and had me rooting for Julian at the end. What a childish immature way of thinking on Lex’s part. Ughh
The beginning of the book was good, so that’s why the three stars

Review for the duet
Charlie fell in love with her best friend married brother Lex. (So be aware that there is cheating, not on the FMC though).
Despite being married, his marriage is in shambles. So he finds himself getting comfort and understanding from Charlotte. He falls in love with her, and plans to leave his wife for her. But something happens, something really heartbreaking happens, and they go their separate ways.
Eight years later, he’s back, but Charlie is engaged to someone else.
He wants her, and will do anything to get her back. But when both of them learn the real truth, all the events behind their break up. When he learns what she had to go through alone…. Dear lord! My heart shattered.
I love this story so much! It’s a perfect story about forbidden love, lost, heartbreak, a second chance, redemption, screw ups… He vowed that nothing would ever tear them apart again. Guess what? He lied! After everything, I wanted to smack the shit out of him! I needed major groveling! And we had none.
This book ruined me. It’s so emotional. And I think is the reason I hate second chance romances. This book really messed with my head.
Don’t get me wrong. I absolutely love this duet! It was absolutely perfect! Enticing, well written. The side characters were amazing. But god did it made me cry!

I was sobbing when she confessed to Alex about their first child. Being close to my grandma who is thankfully still alive I always sob when reading about this and just that she lost both the same time made me sob even harder. Then losing Elijah and almost Lex broke me so much.

After Charlie discovers the press have made out that Lex and Victoria were having a secret relationship, Charlie needed to get away from him. She leaves the Hamptons and returns to the city, but who is the first person that she calls when she returns?
Lex is left in the Hamptons with Charlie’s friends who lets be honest, some of them are not Lex’s biggest fans to begin with. Then discovering this article doesn’t help matters.
Charlie decides that it is time to come clean to Alex about what happened all those years ago when she left town. I did not expect the twists and turns in this story. I cried my eyes out at parts but I don’t want to spoil the story so I won’t say which part.
I really enjoyed the way the author switched up the chapters with each character and we got to know a bit more about Charlie’s friends.
As per Lex’s character he is still possessive and doesn’t want to give up on Charlie without a fight. Their chemistry is undeniable. The heat between them when they are together is electrifying. Even though Julian is deemed to be the “good guy” you do want Lex to the win the girl. But will his past choices be too much for Charlie? Will they make things work? Or will a tragic loss in the family be too much for Charlie and Lex to make things work?
I think I read this book in a day and a half, I could not and did not want to put it down. I just wanted to know what happened with Charlie and Lex.
