Finally!!! My 200th book read after i joined goodreads and it is safe to say as something i liked.
I am not an expert in Grimm dark stories, nor am i read that much grimm dark books too but out of the many i read on this genre, this is one of the most grimmest book i've read.
The concept of this book fascinated me. There is no magic in the conventional sense in this book. One's belief makes reality and more he believes and more others believe in them, the more powerful they get. I want to compare this with our faith too. For example, if everyone chose to not follow a religion today, the next generation wont know the religion existed and that makes the gods were forgotten and indeed is like the death of the gods.
Regarding the plot and the characters, i really liked the concept of trying to make a man made god to challenge other gods and their own destiny. the pacing was relatively fast and i liked how much each mental health changes the belief system and thereby changing the powers each possess and how powerful each one gets. As per the characters, i really liked the trio of main characters and i really liked their relationships with respect to the mental health issues they have.
Like i said i really liked the concept of this story rather than the characters and the plot. That doesn't mean they are not there, but concepts are even more notifiable.

that was a wild ride, although not as graphic as i was expecting considering it was at the top of the grimdark list.
loved the idea behind physical manifestation of mental illness, found it a very disgusting and beautiful metaphor.
read very fast, almost cartoony, i feel like it would be a good backing for a video game.
read first 180 pages in one day them 300 pages the next day, was very focused, it was definitely a page turner.
i look forward to reading the next book in the series, but my library doesnt have it.

Absolutely sucked me in and blew me away. I had been avoiding this book for some time because the "grimdarker than grimdark" tag I had seen bandied about was bothering me. I tried reading "The Vagrant" recently and gave up after 100 pages because that world was bleak even beyond "The Road" or Wiesel's "Night". I didn't need, nor want, something that apocalyptically bleak. Thankfully that is not what you will find with this book. It's dark, sure, it's brutal, sure, but it is also fun and it's not hopeless. No, this is a thoroughly enjoyable adventure romp and I'm super glad I finally read this because it is fantastic and it is definitely plain old enjoyable Grimdark. The world may be difficult, and populated with nasty and unsavory people, but our protagonists are believable characters, enjoyable to follow, logically consistent, and all are contending for a better future as they see it. In this world a better future is at least conceivable and worth fighting for.
It's a fascinating world too, not like anything I have read before. The madness as power conceit had me worried but it's very intelligently done and I am super impressed. As I get older I find with many books I struggle to maintain interest. What I seek in a book is a compelling story that will suck me out of this world and sweep me away, devouring page after page, until I reach the end. This book delivered that in spades. I highly recommend it. This is a top ten read for me in 2016.

I could not put this one down. It is dark, bleak, disturbing, horrifying and absolutely terrible. And it is also utterly captivating.

The Magic "system" is unique. I never read something like this before. I applaud the author for creating something different.
I was hooked from the first chapter when the book introduced its characters. In every stories/books I read, the characters are the one I'm looking forward to read and get to know them. What I loved about Beyond Redemption's characters, they sound realistic. I can imagine this sort of person exist in real life. The dialogues also other aspect of book I love exploring. The dialogues doesn't come out as monotones. Every words spoken fit the characters so well.
The plots. it's unpredictable. When I thought I knew where it's going, it went to another direction. The "Delusion" shaped this world and everything around it and it's part of the worldbuiding. I would say the worldbuilding is very solid because of it.
Well now I'm excited to read the rest of the series.

Wow! This was really really good. But also truly disturbing and incredibly imaginative!
People who have a trouble with 'grimdarks' should steer well clear of this one... For it is grim, it is dark, it is twisted and (first 5-20% section in particular) downright revolting.
At the same time, this book is unputdownable. It is a remarkable example of fantastic storytelling and worldbuilding (amazing implementation of the 'belief-insanity-reality' connection idea!) It is hard to sound fresh in the fantasy genre. Too many beaten tropes. But Beyond Redemptions succeeds to stand out with 'flying colours'. I really struggle even to compare it with something... it stands firmly on its own and I feel might develop into a 'landmark' series. (I would say it is in the same style-ballpark with Joe Amercrombie but in its own unique voice).
The prose itself is excellent as well. It is so easy to get immersed the story, despite the horrible things the plot has on the menu. It is also written in a language that somehow makes all the insanity going on to sound plausible, believable...gripping.
Anyhow, very strongly recommended read, 5/5. (Particularly to someone who is tired of the same-old-same-old 'farmer boy vs evil overlord' action. But not for someone faint of heart).
