Callie and Lewis is all grown up

Omg. I cant believe these two are grown up. They are now 25 years old. Currently, not together and we slowly get to find out why they broken up. I loved reading about their story and all the different characters from this series. There is a bit of a mystery/suspense when Callie is robbed at least twice. Their second chance at love will have you rooting for them. Lewis is such a dirty talker. Who knew he had it in him? Callie is a tough independent woman. She still loves Lewis and slowly lets him back into her heart. Lewis is patient enough to go slow with Callie and really prove that he loves her and wants that second chance.

I devoured this in a day! It was such a beautiful read, one I was excited and waiting for since this series started.

'Northern Twilight' tells Callie and Lewis story; childhood sweethearts that breakup just as both are on the cusp of adulthood. Oh God did I feel this one down to my bones. It's that all consuming love where the person is everything to you and you can't imagine a future that doesn't feature them as your anchor to the world. And then that person is gone...And what's left is shadows and dull feelings and an untethered restlessness that time doesn't even heal. I mourned their teenage loss like it was my own.

Reading their story, seeing them come back to one another was special and cathartic and had me turning page after page without stopping!

Young has created an amazing world in Ardnoch. All the stories in the series are fantastically written, engaging and always leave you wanting the next story straight away. They offer so much; romance, spice, suspense...What more could you want?

Least favorite Adair book so far. I started it multiple times and kept thinking I wasn’t in the mood but…I had been looking forward to this one because of the fact they’d been in love since they were kids. I thought a 7 year separation was far too long for people whose family is so entwined and the reunion was ridiculously easy after living completely separate lives for such a long time. I didn’t enjoy the forced drama with Carianne or Gabriel. I feel as though dating two guys in 7 years should not crown you the town whore (I’ve lived in small towns and they can be ridiculous but that was over the top) I thought the “mystery” part was dumb and obvious. I love her writing but the storyline failed on every level for me on this one. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the next one.

This book was ok I guess. It could have had more angst. It was very tepid. The romantic suspense aspect of the book felt like an after thought, like the author suddenly remembered she forgot to write it in. It comes in the last 96% - 97% and has nothing to do with anything.
This book has 2000 Scottish characters with unpronounceable names (most of the names sounded like car brands, Kia, Harley ….I’m sure we are one book away from an epilogue featuring twin babies Renault and Hyundai) who all had their own books so if your like me a didn’t read all of them, this book will tell you, and tell you about their kids. It’s not dissimilar to when your aunt complains to you about her church friends. There’s like a million people and I don’t know who any of them are and I don’t care.
