I’m afraid that for me this story descended into the truly implausible. Having read about the Magdalene Sisters in Ireland, with actual stories of young girls and women who were treated so atrociously by the nuns, facts in this story were completely believable. The actions of Kitty became more ludicrous as the book continued

Wow was this ever immersive and equally heart-breaking. My first experience with this author was definitely not a disappointment and I am so excited to read more by her. The sources she provides at the end for the historical value as well as the inspiration were so interesting; I actually found myself following the articles and looking into the themes afterwards. So well done. Just remember to blink once in awhile! Lol
I really enjoyed reading this book, the concept was interesting and it was certainly compelling, but parts of it were so farfetched or weirdly coincidental that I can't give it more than 3 stars
