Eine spannende Geschichte über eine grausame historische Tatsache, die vor nicht allzu langer Zeit Realität für tausende Mädchen und Frauen war. Das Buch wechselt zwischen verschiedenen Zeitenwende und Charakteren und beschreibt spannende und überraschende Wendungen. Einige Szenen waren für mich am Rande des Lesbaren bezüglich der dargestellten Gewalt

This is an interesting story of the horrors of an abusive home for unwed mothers, but there are too many characters/relationships to keep track of. Some of the characters were not well-developed, or were cluttered with sub-story lines that never were completed.
Suspenseful and sad. There were parts that fell a bit flat for me, but overall it was a very good read. Thrilling conclusion that I only partly guessed.
