This book didn't quite live up to the magic of the first, but I still really enjoyed it. Anne still gets into all sorts of trouble and has as large of an imagination as ever, but ages believably. I'm excited to see where her life goes.

Very sweet and enchanting! Anne of Avonlea continues Anne's development from girl to womanhood.

Continuation of Anne’s story, showing her growth from the imaginative girl of Anne of Green Gables into a young woman navigating adulthood. The characters really make this book shine—Marilla’s softened edges, Paul Irving’s poetic soul, and of course, mischievous little Davy with his endless questions and hilarious antics. His blunt honesty and curiosity keep the story lighthearted, even as Anne faces more responsibilities.

I loved the Anne with an E series on Netflix and now that I have read the second book...I want more of that show.
This is the second book in the series and covers the time from 16 to 18 years old. Anne is a teacher now (kind of crazy to think) and though she is maturing, she is still full of adventure and mistakes, such as accidently selling a neighbor's cow and dying her nose red. Is also progressive for its time in education and discipline.
