Great follow up to the first book in the series. The way Marsden writes is hypnotic and extremely relatable. The audiobook version was well read and bravo to the narrator for her very subtle character voices.

This series compares to Eragon, Hunger Games, and even HP in the way that I can't put them down, not in the quality of writing or whatever smart people care about. This one was a 4.8 and I probably should round up but its so hard to give it 5 stars because then it is comparable to the first when the first was just so much better. But I love the way the characters and their skills are developing, even if the plot didn't do too much this time around. Must.keep.reading.
