It was fine. I loved the short stories and diary entries but didn’t need the backlog information on everything else.

This book was a waste of time and pointless.

It’s a companion compendium and doesn’t feel like an actual book in the series. It’s an excellent reference material to have, and will be handy when the show comes out!

“I try not to think about what I would change. It's in the past. Dwelling there only leads to more things you wish you had chosen differently.” - Kieran Contou

This is such a fun way to give a companion novel to a sprawling series. Told in Miss Willa’s POV? That makes it an absolute knockout. All of the art in here is glorious and really adds to the reading experience, and all the artists involved are so incredibly talented. I loved seeing some of the behind the scenes/deleted scenes and exclusives in here that JLA gave us, and the way it cleared up some questions on certain characters that may have been missed in the grand scheme of things. Hearing Willa’s viewpoints on many of these said characters really makes on think about the last three books coming in the series, and has made me even more excited for what’s next.
It was an absolute blast to revisit the earlier books and the introductions to characters and watch their transitions and growth be summed up in a handful of pages, and I think this will be something I look back on going forward when I have a theory of my own, and I love that. And I LOVED the notable quotes chapter. Loved loved loved.
Don’t miss this imperative piece of the puzzle coming out in just a week!

The only reason this gets 3 stars is because I love this world and liked some of the new stories... that said a lot of it is just repating and informatiom being dumped. I listened to it on audio and skipped so many parts. It would've been better to just create a novella with all the stories and a seperate book with just the information so people who are not interested in that can skip those.
A lot of my reviews are also available with photo at my Bookstagram: @justmyfantasyworld

Very repetitive and doesn't add much to the series. There are a handful of original stories sprinkled throughout the book, otherwise it reads like a reference book.

Okay look, did I think this book was gonna be a total cash grab when I first heard about it? Yes, I did. Do I still think that? Kind of, but also no.
The FBAA and FAF series are seemingly simple and palatable for fantasy readers but the worlds are SO complex. Each series has so many different characters with different abilities and appearances (especially FAF) and so this compendium is actually very VERY helpful.
Told from the perspective of Miss Willa, this is the perfect book for those of you who don’t want to go back and reread the series when the next couple of books are being released. It is incredibly detailed and helpful for jogging your memory for every characters. Not only that, but there are some spicy scenes

Super informative and helpful re-cap of every thing that has happened so far. I just can't help but think that if this is book 6 (or 9 of you're reading the flesh and fire series too) the plot is about to get crazyyy
