Perfect Shadow by Brent Weeks

In the acknowledgements, Weeks admits to using this story as a way to experiment with a "staccato" type of storytelling to see if it works or not. To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of the method in this story. It was more confusing than interesting. As far as the story goes, I thought it was decent but to be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of the Night Angel series so getting a backstory on Durzo Blint wasn't as nerdgasmic an experience for me as it clearly was for people who are bigger fans of that series.

Lightbringer on the other hand...😍

Stoccato style sounds like a great idea when writing it yourself ... but its really difficult to decipher.
Though it fills in a little bit of Durzo's origins, the additional short story is just a random short story with no meaning.
I'm just glad it it was short.

Was really hoping it would go back to his first life, and we could see how the first huge war ended.
