Leads right into the beginning of the Night Angel trilogy. I love that trilogy enough that I wish there was more.

A great short story from Brent Weeks about everyone's favourite assassin Durzo Blint. If you liked the Night Angel books you have to read it. If you have never read a Night Angel book then you have to read this to get into it.

neviem či bolo najlepšie to čítať pred trilógiou, alebo až po, pretože som nepochopil celý ten magický systém, ale každopádne ma to bavilo a zaujalo na toľko aby som sa do série konečne aj pustil

I honestly wish this hadn't included all the mention of screwing Momma K because it really was not necessary to the story at all. Like in the author's note at the end, Weeks states that he wanted it to be much shorter. Well there's what you could have cut out my man. Lord.

Brent Weeks may be at his best in the short form.

This was a wonderful (albeit a little sad) story about the transition of Gaelen Starfire to Durzo Blint.

And it took only took a very short form to do it. Which was infinitely more interesting and readable than the longer novels he writes.

I listened to the audiobook and was honestly very confused because the scene breaks weren’t clear. I think that really ruined a lot of it for me. Dunno if I’ll ever bother reading it properly. Just wasn’t really my thing?
