Deep concepts explained with examples

I got a lot to think from this book. It was full of deep concepts with personal examples. I'm taking time to absorb them still and hope to apply some to my life.

Incredibly positive story/guide for being a positive leader...full of humorous, wonderful anecdotes.

A book about music, humanity, and the connections we all share. I found this book stimulating and refreshing. It created a subtle shift in thinking that allowed more light in.

There are many good points to notice and realize from this book though I found it very difficult to keep reading it. Maybe it’s just me but I couldn’t get the point in some part of the book. I think I need to read it again because I couldn’t help but skimming in some part of this book and I’m sure I missed some essences of the book. There are many back stories and examples to support the practice of possibility.

I loved this book--it was recommended by Kara Loewentheil so I was intrigued. I listened to it and liked that format for it. It's basically about using some basic guidelines to create more expansiveness in your life. Some of the ones that resonated for me were "give everyone an 'A'" (expect the best from people); 'the 6th rule' (stop taking yourself so seriously) and 'the alchemy of WE' (stop getting polarized in conflicts).
I really liked the presentation--Rosamund Stone Zander wrote the book, and her partner (Boston Philharmonic Orchesta conductor) Benjamin Zander provides examples and musical interludes. They present 12 principles that I felt were all valuable. It's not a standard self help book as it's really about taking a general perspective of openness towards life/generosity towards other people, distilled into 12 principles.

Definitely do the audio book. It felt a little like a musician's take on The Artist's Way mixed with a bit of Braiding Sweetgrass, although I liked both of those better.

Brilliant and captivating, this book outlines simple techniques to turn the ordinary into extraordinary. I found myself adopting a delighted and optimistic view in regular circumstances. I plan on revisiting the techniques every now and then, given the impact they had. The stories of the orchestras and interpersonal relationships made it a delight to read. Highly recommended if you want a bit more optimism!
