Mostly listened to this one on audio with a little bit of physical reading.

All in all, not the greatest. Dialogue felt subpar and I just wasn't all that invested in any of the characters. Probably tied with The Regulators as my least favorite King novel but I'm trying to read every King novel. I'm down to about seven now. I doubt I'll ever reread this one, lol.

I really enjoyed this one. Much more than the zombie story I assumed (which makes an ass out of you and me). The standout aspect was the relationships the main characters made in the nightmare they found themselves in. No deep character developments or story, but a very good and surprisingly touching/heartbreaking (at times) story. Dragged in some spots, but overall it was very good.

Stephen King is the only author who always grabbs me from the very first page.Others I might enjoy in different ways, others might have particular style or way with storytelling, but King is unique in his way to manipulate reader with fears.Perhaps I read too many of his novels so far because I dont find them really exciting now,its more or less same old thing in a new clothes.
"Cell" toys with idea that cell-phones turn the world into madhouse and anybody who answered a phone call (which is basically everyone) turns into mindless animals.Several characters are roaming around in a search of sanctuary and here we have usual King's toying with brutality,ghost-like characters and psycho-fears.I read it in two days its really nothing spectacular.

If you've watched the movie... The book is very different. Pretty good ending here (which is sometimes unusual for him). I cringed at his stereotyping all all things terrorist... Come on Steve. WTF.

2.5/5 This is unquestionably a lower tier Stephen King book. It reads like a lower quality and less deep The Stand. It is not that it isn't entertaining, it mostly is aside from a weak middle section, just that one expects more from King. There are no iconic characters or scenes and it really doesn't feel like King. This reads like his juvenilia rather than from a world-famous author that has been writing books for over 32 years.

Was really good but going in expecting a zombie type apocalypse book means the outcome of the apocalypse is kind of disappointing.

Ending was pretty poor.
