The end of The Amateurs left me anticipating something... and I was waiting for it the entire time I was reading Follow Me... until FINALLY it happened in the last few pages. Overall, Follow Me felt like a long, boring commercial break. Up next, Last Seen!

Eh. I found this book to be ok. I didn’t really see the point in this book. I didn’t feel that it strengthened the plot in anyway, it seemed to be a filler.
Ok here come the spoilers.
Plus, overall, Brett kidnapping Chelsea was pointless. It had nothing to do with the overall plot. The first book felt like Sara Shepard was going to write Brett to kidnap Aerin for refusing him, not some random Instagram celeb.
I just didn’t think this book was necessary in this series.

This entire book was essentially a side story made to show off Brett’s ability to hide in plain sight. I found this to be really problematic. I just don’t understand realistically, how they didn’t recognize Brett. There are only so many ways that he could’ve changed his looks without using prosthetics.Plus, overall, Brett kidnapping Chelsea was pointless. It had nothing to do with the overall plot. I didn't enjoy this sequel nearly as much as the first book in the series for multiple reasons. None of the character's really dealt with their grief and instead ran around chasing something unrealistic, making this story feel very immature.
However, it was a fast-paced read that held my interest. Also, there were several instances where crystals were discussed which made me ecstatic as I'm newly rock obsessed! Will I read the next book when it's released? Probably, I'm just praying that will be the last we see of this group of sleuths.

I definitely didn't enjoy this one as much as the first. I wanted to like it but I was disappointed from the beginning. I struggled with staying with it. I enjoyed the first one, and I know people who loved both books. It didn't strike me as good as the first. I wish I could pinpoint why.

I'm always a bit hesitant with Sara Shepard's series. The Amateurs was such a strong start, and it's hard (for anyone) to deliver a good follow up. This book was great, though! It was a really good continuation of the storyline. I love the cat and mouse aspect. I can't wait for what's next!

I received this copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Despite not having read the first in this series, I enjoyed this! I think it would have been a little better if I had though, so do keep that in mind! That said, despite definitely now knowing what happens in the first book, I would definitely read it if given the opportunity, as it's good fun and I want to see how it all started.
Follow me picks up a little time after the first book, and does a great job of introducing the bad guy and the main characters without being heavy handed. I really liked that this series has an ongoing bad guy who is known from the first book but still manages to be creepy and hiding in plain sight. I also really liked the ending - I guessed where it might go with Chelsea but it was well done, and I totally didn't see the very ending. My only real complaints was that they weren't very subtle given they knew he was baiting them and I don't blame the police for ignoring and doubting them as their evidence is a little shady in places. But it's good fun, and a decent mystery.
